Hey all. I've been thinking of dabbling in a sci-fi MMO. Ships and all, I know that's the usual fare. I wouldn't mind one where you do a bit of walking around as well... (do those exist?)
I'd try Eve, and I know that's probably the best one, but it sounds way too PvP centric for me. I'm not so much into the malicious PVP stuff where people's only aim is to make your gaming time as short and painful as possible.
Any suggestions?

My suggestion is good luck, finding sci-fi games is hard enough on it's own, most of it is thinly veiled fantasy with sci-fi elements tacked on. I agree with you, I played EvE and found it to be ridiculously PvP-centric, which doesn't interest me in the least. I'm currently playing Anarchy Online, but I really want something more and have had no luck coming up with anything that's on the market right now.
