They gave graphics a 9.... No matter what your take on how bad or good darkfall may be, or how bad the company running it has handled publicity, etc. everyone can tell that the graphics and animations are complete rubbish.
And for you people who claim that AV is a small studio and thats somehow an excuse:
I know it was made by an indie blah blah blah...I dont give a shit. Every game should be judged by its peers, so an indie developed game's graphics should be judged by it's peers, and clearly Darkfall's graphics are far far worse than a 9/10 (90%, A....I guess this shitty performance might warrent an A in some public schools though)

see with all the fiasco from the last review these guys have kind of set a president for reviewers now. they know to expect that the game they reviewed will try to trash them if its a bad review.
so at this point the reviewer has to worry about the fallout if he doesnt like the game and how it will affect the site he writes for.
all the drama outside of this game just turned me off completely. i dont care if its any good at this point. im staying away. theres too many reviews that swing from one side to the other and anything at all negative is violently defended against.

What I am about to say is 100% true and not stated to be mean toward anyone
when I first saw MO I thought, great graphics I might try it out when it comes out. Then later I heard that much of what I would call "RTS" really isnt going to me in MO at all, sure maybe in the future but not anytime near its release date. (sorry for those that do not understand the context of what I am saying when I use the word RTS in the context of Darkfall and/or MO and no I am not going to explain it again)
So at this point in my story I had already decided that I most likely will not try it. I might spend the $50 to try out the graphics becuase I am a graphic junky but even that was unlikely.
At this point however, I am waiting for all the players who hate DF to leave the game and when they do where ever they mass I want to stay away from as much as possible. Not to teach them a lesson, just becuase I dont want to be around them

Graphics in a game doesn't only mean character animation. While pretty much everyone will agree that the characters could've been better the enviroment's graphic are really good. Also, with a much higher quality, the game can be accessed by a larger audience than most games who aim for a much higher quality.
And since when does graphics describes how good a game is? Because honestly even RuneScape wouldn't have such a huge player database if it did. And while you might reply "I never said graphics makes a game", the moment you wrote "This review can be completly ignored imo" and discussed only about the graphics, I think that speaks for itself.

I didnt say that graphics made the game, I said that the reviewer proved that he had a "pro-darkfall" bias by rating the graphics subsection a 9/10. If he would have been unbiased, It would have probably sat around the 5 range.
His pro-darkfall bias (as shown by his graphics subsection rating) would make me ignore the review. I want unbiased reviews - and yes I know that is hard to find these days for almost any game.

Do any of the darkfall supporters honestly believe it deserves a 9.5? I seem to remember alot of ppl going nuts over a "bad review", where are they now? This review is just as bad, just to the positive.

The type of person who will be playing MO will be the same ones who are playing Darkfall atm, or hating on it (which shows they are interested in it). The pool of players for a FFA game is the same...dont really understand the MO noobs coming here and preaching that MO community is so much better and more mature than DFs. Its just that we are waiting till the game goes open beta/live.
It seems they just have no ideea of PVP games, the same guys and guilds, Goons, mercs, blood and everyone else will try it. Know the kind of people you will play with before you buy it.
Everquest community is not in DF, and will not be in MO. Thats just how it is.
Regarding the review, at least you can clearly see he played the game and was informed of everything going on in the world, from PVE to the guild alliances and politics. Much more informed than a certain imbecile from Eurogamer.
weird, cuz for a year or so before the darkfall "release", we had to put up with darkfail trolls on every forum on the internet -- talking about how great everything surrounding darkfall was going to be.

As a darkfall supporter and one that many consider a fanboi I conside 9.5 to be to high.
if I was a game reviewer I would give it an 8.
compared to games i personally have played I would give it a 9.
8-9 is a bit more close to 9.5 than 2 is.
I guess industry wide we can say we are still at 5.75 which is still too low

I played it for more than a week, about a month, and i liked it. But Id still rate it about a 6-7, because of it's lack of polish and having to play on the EU server for so long.

They probably just wanted a mention from Darkfall henche the high review. Even a lot of people who play and enjoy the game wouldn't rate it that high yet. This person loses all credibility as far as i'm concerned.

I could not agree more with this statement. There is always extreme love or extreme hate for this game. We need more balanced reviews that are willing to say whats good about the game as well as the bad. Also both sides need to better manage their reactions to criticism or praise coming from both sides. It does not make sense to troll and flame someone just because they like/hate something. Also it does not make sense to nerd rage about a review whether its good or bad.
Seriously, how are you going to get mad and tell someone else that their OPINION is wrong even if it may be based in false information. Instead of doing that why don't everyone tell why they have the opinion they have...
No single MMO from UO and Meridian 59 to whatever just released is worth a 9,5. They still don't have the perfection that just a few single player games have been able to create (Diablo, NWN, Quake 2, half life...).
This is just about another game page that gives out way to high scores. And I would write this no matter what game got 9,5, no MMO have ever been over a 9. Sorry but I give MMORPG Hispano a 1.
They could also tell us more why they give the game 9,5 while they still say it is bugged? 9,5 is almost perfect and therefor it shouldn't have any buggs whatsoever to get this score.
I mean a 6 would be one thing or even a 7 because the reviewer liked the gameplay and new thinking is good and should award bonus points but any MMO should be judged on graphics, sounds & music, gameplay, performance, story, art, interface and community(people cheating or using bots lower this score for any game BTW).
Can anyone actually honest say that DF (or any other MMO for that matter) deserves at least a 9 on all these points?
I think not.
And no, I am not against DF as such but I am against stupid reviews that either are bought by the devs or made by the worlds biggest fanboi. Other MMOs have had these too, always upsets me.
No game ever made is worth a 9.5 rating, and any review that offers that high of a rating can be dismissed out of hand as completely biased ( and most likely having some type of financial reason for offering a high rating of unpolished and broken games, you see this type of thing often in certain gaming magazines ).
DFO is a solid 4.5, and with much polish ( and several game changes ) could possibly rise to a 6.0
