Steam appears to be offering more and more 3rd party titles on their system.  So far I've only bought steam games that are exclusive to steam, but if it's cheaper and it means you don't have to worry about backing up your CD's and CD keys, it might be worth it.  Seems like it'd also be harder to get mods to work on 3rd party steam games.

Seems like 3rd party steam games are quite a bit cheaper than retail.  I just don't think it would be worth it to have to figure out how to make them work on steam, not only that you'd be adding in more support hoops to jump through should you have an issue.

I boycott steam. I'll pay a higher price rather than buy something off of steam.

Any particular reason?  I'm guessing Left 4 Dead 2?

Why? It's one of the best things to happen to gaming recently.  And their library just gets bigger and bigger.  At first, yes, it sucked, but since they've gotten the bugs and such worked out, it's become an awesome delivery system.  Downloads are fast, they have constant sales and sometimes "free play weekends" and such.

If it's really because of L4D2, that's just stupid.  I agree that it should just be DLC, but oh well, no reason to boycott Steam.

Best thing about Steam is taht there is NO NEEDTO KEEP CD's!  No more scratched or broken CD/DVD's to worry about and if you build a new PC your games can go with you :)

I guess SoE can't get their games sold anymore, might as well start making them F2P then.

Euro pricing for me. I can get a game box shipped from the US with an airplane through Amazon cheaper than I can buy a game from Steam.

    Imagine that.

There are a lot of MMO's on sale.  Not just the SOE ones.

Why does everyone bash SOE?  It's a big company that made a bad decision on SWG.  I've made bad business decisions too.  And had to eat the losses at the end.  I'm sure they've learned some kind of valuable lesson from it.

But personally, I love Everquest II.  Every time I play it I have an awesome time.

I have a pretty good time playing Free Realms so far too.  I think they did an awesome job with that.  Not to mention when my neices and nephews stay over it gives us something to do so they don't destroy my house.

I've been wanting to jump back in and play the new expansion. Now I got no excuse.

I got an email yesterday promoting EQ2's upcoming update.  It looks very cool!

Only question I have is do you have to pay for Steam?  Or is it just a store front type thing?

    It all seems so stupid
It makes me want to give up
But why should I give up
When it all seems so stupid

Just a storefront.  Program is free and easy to install.  Will need to create a steam account though which is pretty simple.
