UPDATE: Still looking for a MMO(RPG)!

Hi!

I am sick and tired of playing my current games over and over again - WoW have made me sick and I turn tired everytime I login - so I am looking for something new and fresh to try out.

To list out the MMO games I have tried so far:

- WoW (since launch).

- CoV (Tried turning back to it, didn't last more than one or two weeks).

- SWG (Can't hold out the boring grind when it comes to leveling, the housing is great - but the leveling sucks!).

- Voyage Century Online (Something different, free - but no a community to recommend if you wish to create friends).

- KAL online (ages ago since I tried it, won't go back to that again).

- Anarchy Online (Oh dear.. what a grind!).

- LOTR (Tried coming back to it twice, didn't last more than a month each time).

- Darkfall online: (Can't really say, one of the most bugged games I tried).

- Some that aren't really worth to remember..

But instead of just saying what I tried, I might as well say what I liked/disliked about them - to help you helping me easier, so what I liked was:

- WoW: A large and active decent English speaking community, options of picking up professions to be different from another one who picked the same class.

- SWG: The housing idea, totally best thing ever <3 But also the spaceship part, hologram hunting and the lore behind the game.

- CoV: The bases, that it gets harder the more you are in a group.

- Voyage Century Online: The battle on the sea.

- KAL online: The time the events occures in.

- Anarchy Online: different classes? (been ages since I played it really)

- LOTR: That you could sit down and play music and suddenly someone would join you and you realise that you had started a band.

- Darkfall Online: The player looting & skill based game.

The bad side of the games:

- WoW: Too many players, you can easily feel useless - as you can easily be replaced by others. The in-game economy is horrible for beginners.

- SWG: The grind when it comes to leveling, a level a day ain't enough for me O.o

- CoV: The missions looks like eachother, alot.

- Voyage Century: Too much grind (talking hours and hours just to level a simple skill up).

- KAL online: Can't remember really, didn't catch me back then - might not catch me now either.

- Anarchy Online: I left because of the heavy grind (about four years ago since I tried, might have changed).

- LOTR: Playing music is not enough to keep me going, felt that you were running around alone in the world when trying to quest etc.

- Darkfall online: To many bugs and too many glitches.

So what I am looking for is a game that contains most possible:

- An English speaking community.

- Chance for PvP (not a must, but prefered to have it).

- Professions (tradeskills that are worth getting leveled - In WoW for instance it's not worth it).

- Character classes is not a must, for those who have tried SWG pre-NGE know that SWG used to have a fantastic character class mix as ye liked.

- Funny gadgets, things you can do with your friends or just alone.

- A MMO that doesn't need a powerhorse to run it (Age of Conan - no ty).

- It doesn't have to be an easy game to progress in, but then again I don't want to spend all my life in front of my computer trying to play a game that is too hard to progress in.

- I will not play games like Maplestory, I prefer third person view.

- The graphic style doesn't really matter.

- Doesn't matter if it's F2P or P2P.

- I once played Guild Wars, I found it great untill I figured out that the world outside was instanced - which I am all against.

- A form of PvP is always liked - even if its based on duels - then its good enough for me.

Bit tired atm - might update a it later.

Any suggestions are most welcome!

-Thank you.

EDIT: Added a few more things that I like in games.

EDIT2: Considering trying Fallen Earth or Vanguard Saga of heroes - but any MMO suggestions are welcome!

Tried Global Agenda - not my cup of tea.

EDIT3: Tried EVE - not my cup of tea either, thanks for suggesting it though!

I'd suggest trying Atlantica Online.  It's currently the best F2P game out there (IMO).  It's got most (if not all) of what you listed there.  Since you seemed to like WoW you could try Runes of Magic (also F2P) also.  Most of the other F2P and P2P games probably won't appeal to you for various reasons (heavy instancing, way too grindy, buggy, too much PvP, etc. - I know you didn't mention that you didn't like that last one, but I get the impression you don't want to be ganked 24/7).

I have to agree with magnum atlantica online is one of the more refined of the f2p's. Also you might want to check out Ryzom it was fairly nice playing with that much freedom.

EVE, free trial available, 21 days if you look for the sticky on the EVE forums on this site.

I'd agree with Kyleran or try something like Everquest 2 or Vanguard. Both feature professions and PvP of some form or other, as far as I remember.

A game for the future would be Dawntide. =]

I believe EQ2 is releasing an arena type PvP system soon also.

Everquest might be a thing I could look on, EVE I have tried and disliked it - the permanent space thing werent me (tried the trial a few times) - Vanguard might also be something to look on, last I checked Vanguard was at launch.

Thank you for the fast replies! Feel free to come with more! :)

Eh, i've been around and played a few too many mmo's, if your looking for PvP, try hitting up WAR. They have an endless free trial with a level 10 cap.

Also, i'd probably recommend EQ2, its way more refined and less "buggy" then WAR, and has a pretty good community but yeah EQ2 is pretty hefty for your memory

If you want a refreshing change take out the free trial of Potbs.

Pirates of the Burning Sea has something for all play-styles, its not for everyone but definately worth a trying.

I play FE at the moment and it's a great game with some flaws. Progression isn't easy and you have lots of freedom. Try the trial and see for yourself. That's the best way to find a new MMO ;)
