My hopes are that aion will supply some form of entertainment for atleast 3 months when it releases. Until then, and after it's buzz fades FFXI will quench my MMO addiction, with plenty of misc. RPGs and FPSs as fillers.
Been trying to get older games to work on Windows 7 and check them out on my new 40" screen. Unfortunately the issues I'm having with not getting the native resolution with my current video card have been giving me problems. Anyone know of a good game that would be really cool on such a huge screen?
Playing Sims 3 and Red Alert 3 off/on atm....and may return to LOTRO after I get the new video card. The card also come with Call of Duty: World at War; plus I can get a free copy of Cryostasis from EVGA when I register the card on their site!
Ive been playing EQ2, with its asian style graphics i cant help but like it almost as much as FFXI graphics. Not to say the rest of the game isnt amazing and fun because it is...but I positive i'll be done with EQ2 once FF14 releases.
Well, I have been doing Perfect World international, but i've seen 3 month old kids with more depth, so I can't say it'll last me until 14. If anyone has a good game suggestion for an old FFXI vet, then please, send it my way

Sadly, there is nothing out there that remotely resembles the gameplay of FFXI. There is an MMO called 4Story {F2P} that looks similar to FFXI being that there are Cat-Girl, Taru, Galka as well as Human and Elvan races to choose from....that earily look like FFXI, but its a typical F2P game with not much depth.

Wow.... I went to the 4Story website just to troll around for a few, and watched the game trailer. Wow... just.... it's like watching FFXI Wal-Mart edition. Like when you were a kid and someone bought you the off-brand power rangers, sure they kinda looked the same, you knew what they were supposed to be, but they were just, off a little. Anyway, thanks for mentioning that game, I got a kick out of the video, and now I am going to have to download it. Just looks to cheesy to pass by.

Ah yeah I forgot about Sorcerian that uses the FFXI engine and its about the same. Did it ever get released or still in beta or never gonna see the light of day!?
I died a little inside today. This game has stolen any last hope I had in man. I thought that 4story was blatent, this one.... god... I'm not even sure what to say! Obviously the same engine in the game, and I know I saw more than a few repainted models of the mobs and armor. That's just hilarious. Thank you so much for telling me about that one! Loaded up FFXI to train up my girlfriend for FFXIV. She is new to MMO's and I need her in shape for the release of FFXIV! So we will see what kind of damage we can do in a year. If you see Ondo or Kordagrrl on Leviathan... give a wave.
Returned to FFXI 2 days ago...just on a buddy pass for now to farm some gil while awaiting the 1st to get here because of SE's odd payment system. I'll then start a new account and go from there!

Over the next half to full year til XIV comes out I will be playing FFXI and WoW, I have high level characters on both games and still stuff I want to do on both games. Both are really fun to me in different ways, plus all my friends that quit FFXI are making a come back and a few of my friends who never did play it just starting playing because they want to hit 75 on XI before XIV comes out.
I will probably end up playing FFXI the most though and WoW I can come and go when I please and it not really make an impact on a guild I join that is what i enjoy about it
I have several 80 WOW characters and a 76 EQ2 character but I just haven't felt like playing anything the last month.
All the talk of FFXI on these forums made me nostalgic and I couldn't take it anymore. I went out this weekend and bought the FFXI 2008 package and installed it. Seven years worth of updates, 7754 files to update once I got the disk installation done. Instead of recovering my characters, I made a brand new RDM. I think I'll be focusing on FFXI until FFXIV comes out. Logging into FFXI after being away for 3+ years was a feeling thats really hard to describe.
I originally played on PS2 so I'm having a really hard time adjusting to playing with the PC keyboard and its hell trying to remember where everything is but it feels like home to me.

LOTRO, WoW and I'm debating about giving EVE a run. I'd also like to try out Star Trek Online as well as SWTOR.

You can always solo past Qufim! It only last from 20-25, and you can spend that time lvling in the areas where you need to get the Kazham keys....hehe
