Why do you insist on using your own forum software?

It is not all that bad I guess but it lacks so much and I am so very tired of loosing posts, having to copy every post to clipboard before posting is not all that much of hassle but sometimes one forget and it does feel kinda unprofessional.

Not being able to see what threads I have posted in is a major drawback, the search function works but only on a very rudimentary level.

It keeps dropping me out, setting "login every time" works for a while but it quickly forgets. Cookies gets dropped fast and one has to relogin.

I assume the whole site is built around this code so it might be hard to change or whatever but this is no longer a small site for hardcore mmorpg players, it is a major influence in the gaming world for online rpg's. It should look and act accordinly to me. (well it it actually look very good)

Just a tought, not sure how this project-X will turn out  but maybe things will change.

Well i've been trying to but most of the time editjs.cfm doesn't load and don't even have a text box to post in...

and I hear ya on the member search and having to copy everything to clipboard.

The worst thing is... I don't think they even bother taking anything we say on board in the bugs or suggestion section...

Our forums still need a lot of work.  We will be addressing this very agressively soon as well as adding many new features. 

It is our core policy to never use "canned" code at MMORPG.com.  Even though we do get complaints like this - we also get tons of messages from people that thank us for the fresh site and the break away from "PHP clone" gaming communities.

We will always strive to be original and very unique.  Coding our own forums will allow us to do things that canned code sites cannot.

yeah that i have to agree with.. i am tired of seeing all those sites with exactly the same forums, not even bothering to change the images or forum colours.... like the one on soundclick.com... i am soo pissed off with seeing that forum..

I do generally like this one... but humans like having a winge about things that aren't going right

Yep - I am with ya 100%   That is why they are being worked on at the current time and I am bringin on a new programmer to help me out in about 2 more weeks.  He is going to start working on some really amazing new features for the site while I try to work the bugs out of the current one

I love how they use there own forum software , but yes its so annoying when you make a very long post and then bam you clikc send and its gone....and then you end up typing some half ass 2 line post.
