Resists/Toughness Mechanics?

So ive done some reading and found out how resists and toughness work seperately but cant figure out how they apply together. What i mean is toughness just for physical damage and resists for magical damge or toughness for all damage and then resists apply to magic damge after or before toughness applies?

Toughness is applied against all damage, both magical and physical.

so does this mean that resists apply b4 or after toughness takes effect...

i know toughness reduces dps, and resists mitigate a percentage of damage

It works like this: If you can RESIST the urge to play knowing the false advertising associated with the marketing of this game you win. If you are already playing, and you have the mental Toughness to realize you were scamed and quit, you win.

"Now, Oddjobs, please show us on this doll where Warhammer touched you...."

Scarred, by a game.  Perhaps your mental toughness could use a little work.  :)

I'm not sure anyone is absolutely 100%, no-fail certain (this is theorycrafting kind of stuff, after all), but I believe that it's generally accepted that Toughness is factored first, then armor/resists.

This is a pretty interesting blog on the subject:
