I have always been a patient person, except when it comes to video games.
I remember back to sega genesis days, turbo grfx, super nintendo. I would mail-order games from japan. I would slog through text i didn't understand cause I needed to play that game. I didn't want to wait for it to come across the pacific. I needed it now! By the time a game got here, usa, it was old already. Some times the game didn't make it here at all. I was waiting for the next game already!
I would actually jones for games, like you would a gf, or some ilicit substance.
I've played my share of mmo's, eq,eqII,swg,ac,acII,war,aoc,wow,shadowbane,vg,lotr, and a couple of f2p. Nothing is like your first love though. Mine was eq.
Now, II'm so, so ready for Aion. I played the 'preview' weekend. LIked it a lot. It wasn't earth shattering. It was however, very, very solid in EVERY way. The graphics were one department that really stood out, character models especially(imho). After that is was jus a really, REALLY, good example of what you've already played(see games listed above), and liked.
To be honest, I was a bit let down for the first 10 levels, because of the been there, done that feeling. At level 10 game really picked up. Wings. I don't know how the whole flying combat system and flying whatever else there is will play out, but, it was very new. And didn't feel tacked on, or trivial. I didn't get to do much flying anything, but I liked it.
I'm not totally thrilled about the 'previews', I see them as spoilers. I will play classes other than cleric. My main at release will be cleric.

Here's a shameless bump/update. I broke down and bought the CE preorder from gamestop, so......
Aion is going to be alot of fun and I can hardly wait. I preordered the CE and I'll be rolling an Asmodian cleric at launch. This weekend I'll be testing out the other classes. It is going to be fun being a part of a good mmo again and hopefully the community will be awesome just like FFXI was.

Incoming duel, lol. I always like fights between the same class. I think we are limited to level 10 for this first preview so no pvping yet.
