Second Closed Beta Details from NCsoft!
The second Aion closed beta event kicks off this weekend Friday, June 19th (12:00 PM PT, 9:00 PM CEST, 8:00 PM BST) and ends Monday, June 22nd (12:00 PM PT, 9:00 PM CEST, 8:00 PM BST).
For this event, enthusiastic testers will focus on the beginning player experience for the Asmodians as well as testing server stability and live launch simulation. Take the time to read the story of your quests, pay close attention to the words of the NPCs sharing their knowledge with you, and explore the first ten levels in the shadowy world of Asmodae during this weekend's exciting beta event.
If you're a part of this weekend's closed beta event, drop by the official beta forums beginning on June 18 to share your reports and experiences.
Thanks to the diligence and reporting from the first closed beta event, this weekend's event also features several updates and changes in the game content:
- Updated with culturalized content for Asmodian levels 1-10
- Updated UI at login screen
- Localization fixes for various in game maps
- Fixed various NPC messages
- Initial zone channels increased from 4 to 10
- Server queue added

Can't wait to try Aion out again tomorrow. Hopefully event #4 will have the Abyss open.. if both sides are going to start being playable then... finally try out the real PvP... besides duels.

...true, but not enough...
CB1 had around 5K - 7.5K players and 4 channels was enough there.
CB2 will probably have 50K players (or more, due to the pre-orders), and then 10 channels might be too low...
I am just all giddy about bein able to check it out finally. I missed out on the first beta weekend and this week has just been creeping by like a snail on the saltflats.
Real quick question...If I live in NY, will my beta start at 3:00 PM, Friday?

Hey, I was just wondering where/how I get a key to the second closed beta event or the closed beta events in the future.
I know I missed out on the first key away, but I've been checking and didn't see one for the second event.

To get into the second beta I believe you have to pre-order the game. The game seller, like Gamestop, will then email you the key with instructions on how and where to DL it.
i pre-ordered quite awhile ago and haven't heard anything on how to get into this weekend's event. has anyone else actually gotten any instructions or official word on the process of participating?
Def give the game seller a call and ask for your key. Sometimes they dont send it, sometimes they do. For instance with AoC i had to call and get it. With Aion they sent it the next day.
hey thx for the response. i did receicve a key that reported my acct had been upgraded after i used it.
i guess my assumption has been that we would have to dl a new client, but maybe i'll be able to simply log in using the same client from the first weekend when the servers open this weekend.

Yah, but what the hell is up with starting so late in the day? The last beta started at noon, that's even longer that I have to wait. I'm excited to try out the other race and see what real differences, if any, there are between the two and decide which I want to play on launch.

from what i understand the more compelling differences (as far as spells/skills) that define the races don't show up until you use special power up combos in the abyss.
so i'm not sure we'll be able to get a definitive picture of the differences being capped at 10

After this weekend, they are planning further events focusing on higher levels and PvP, so I'm hoping that will give me what I'm looking for. If not I'll just roll both races on different servers

I would say...don't predorder online, I have had a lot more problems with online preorders and getting the special preorder items like beta invites and such online as opposed to going down to the store and preordering. Then again my local Gamestop had not even heard of the game, but they did have the preroder stuff there, I just had to have them hunt it down...which is a lot eaiser to do in person than online hehe.

Well starting late Friday is ok with me, I have all day Saturday to mess around and Friday night when I get home from work and part of Sunday during the day.
Yes that means that for all living on the U.S. East Coast- your time begins at 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

That's correct. It may be off a few minutes if they don't get the server up axactly on time but should be close to 3 PM eastern (New York) time.

Hey guys just a quick question, is the Beta server up 24/7 or just at specific times now?
yeah i don't trust preorders I've had too many issues so i don't do it anymore. Guess I'll miss out, but I don't want to play too much anyway so I can experience it at launch. I guess it's okay.
Just specific times. they have announcements in several places when they are going to bring them back up again. And the toons on it may get wiped each time.
