Hi,
I was hoping you guys were able to suggest a good mmo for me. I've tried both FFXI and WoW so far. What I really liked about both of the games was the presence of a unique class. FFXI had the red mage class which wasn't tethered to one set role in a fight. With WoW, I really liked the druid class, which could fill practically any role, and the Shaman, the jack of all trades.
I like the gameplay of WoW more, but I wanted to take a break from it at least for a little bit. So, I was wondering if there were any other MMO's that can provide something similar to those classes. The other aspects of the game can vary, but it would be nice for their to be some crafting and some pvp, but it takes a back seat to the unique nature of those classes.
Thanks for any help you can provide me.

Vanguard and EQ / EQ2 come to mind. LOTRO too while i found the original classes really boring but they added one or two more in their first expansion pack.
I would say LotRO might be your best bet.
Minstrel - more of a support class but has lighter damage and melee capabilties
Runecaster - depending on how you play out your fights, you can either serve as an offensive role or defensive role
Warden - same deal as the runecaster, but melee oriented vs magic
Runes Of Magic for a unique class imo. In Runes Of Magic you get a to dual class and use both to kill. Although each class has spells that u can only use when switched to it, each has some u can use as a dual. Such as when I had a rogue/mage, I was able to use fireball as a rogue, and dagger attacks as a mage. You can switch really easly if wanted.
Runes of Magic class aren't unique lol...
Try DDO there are 9 (10th coming) classes, but you can also multi-class up to 3 of them. Add in race, stats, skills, feats and enhancements and you can actually create characters that are different to other peoples.
All of the abobe, in this order:
DDO ( make your own class)
Vanguard (nice classes)
Lotro (has nice classes)
Runs of Magic (it lets you mix two classes).
