Nah it's too late for WAR. MMO's only get 1 shot, and that's at release. If it left a bad taste (and WAR did) then that's it. AOC and Vanguard both made a ton of improvements, but it's too little too late.
I dunno, scenarios in WAR were very well implemented. In terms of content, the problem were city sieges (the wonderful end-game).
Say what you want, but in terms of RvR and mass PvP MMOs, Warhammer is the best out there. Which is why when I first played it I saw the great potential. It was a blast.
It would be great to see WAR fixed up but I think the best course at this point may be to leverage WAR into a new MMO that is RvR/PvP focused. I would definitely try it out.

^^^ This too... Look at how Vanguard is now struggling after an epic fail of a launch... Great game now, but it is very group focued which is bad for servers with such a scant population now.
War could/may also benefit from a complete overhaul of the crafting system and also allow for crafting weapons, armor, siege equipment etc... This way Destruction has at least something to do while the RvR is dead since LOTD... and I am not even the crafting type!
I had to stop reading everyone's posts about the 3rd page, skimmed the rest. I have read enough posts of speculation it makes me sick. KNOW IT ALL's talking out their asses on what they think they think they know. this is the press release:
"Mark Jacobs, the former General Manager of Mythic Entertainment and Lead Designer of Warhammer Online, has left EA on 23rd June, the company announced today. This comes as part of restructuring plans within EA which includes both Mythic and BioWare and have culminated in the formation of a new, as-yet-unnamed, studio which will focus on RPGs and MMOs.
The new studio will be led by BioWare co-founder and General Manager Ray Muzyka, who will become Group General Manager. BioWare's other co-founder Greg Zeschuk will become Group Creative Officer while Rob Denton will succeed Jacobs as General Manager."
Nothing but morons and speculation run rampant any more, its sickening. NO WHERE does this post from EA say that he was canned, left under duress, or that he wanted to take a vacation from the MMO world. Stop putting your words into a company's mouth.
Could BW help Mythic make the game better? Maybe. As its been said, BW has quite a few succesful games out. I beta tested the game and felt the lack of end game right away. I knew it was going to be a boring PvP game, nothing like DAoC's RvR game play. I'm so sick and tired of moron's and their infatuation with the "WOW KILLER" crap. Get over it, if there is a game made someday that does out sub wow in the US, then it will happen, other wise drop it, no one cares but u and the shareholders.
PvP has ruined every game out their, why? All the moronic loosers QQing over balancing. cry whine cry whine. you can read it everywhere. If there was a pvp game that did it half right then all those QQing wouldnt be here right now QQing on another game about its PvP. I could go on and on with the people that now plaque this site but it aint worth it, it just starts idiotic flame wars.
Last bit of rant, before u post, at least read about what you're going to be posting about. Give a hint to others that want to actually read what the OP is asking and stating, that you have a brain and you took the time to research what he's talking about.

I'm looking for a press release from EA, Mythic, or Bioware that states what you have in red... but all I can seem to find are third party posts.
A post from: The Examiner seems to be the lead reference.
but I can not seem to reach that link... it stays at "Loading"
Where did you get your information from?
Edit:
Hey I managed to wiggle my way to it:
Today we have important news to share with the community. EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Ray becomes Group General Manager of the new RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare’s other co-founder, Greg Zeschuk will become Group Creative Officer for the new RPG/MMO studio group. Rob Denton will step up as General Manager of Mythic and report to Ray. BioWare’s studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Ray.
Mark Jacobs, co-founder and current General Manager of Mythic, will leave EA on June 23, 2009. We thank Mark for his contributions at Mythic and wish him the very best going forward. Mark played a major part in the success of Mythic with his contribution as General Manager and Lead Designer of WAR.
Mythic retains a strong team led by Rob who co-founded Mythic in 1995. Rob played a critical role in the development of Dark Age of Camelot. In his previous role as COO, he was responsible for all day-to-day management of the studio including all development, operations and support.
Please join us in celebrating the union of these two award-winning studios.
I agree scenarios are very well done, so well done that I can't find a group for PvE, PQ and RvR is dead at low level. I personally think this game would be sooooo much better if people leveled through the game, not just click SC, wait, play, repeat. BORING.
Much like AoC, a change of head could be not 'the end' but a 'reboot' Now 'techically' Bioware own WAR and the Warhammer Fantasy IP - it's no shock that EA chose to do this 'merge' after LoTD - It's opening the door for a chance to 'reboot' the game. With this 'what if?' IF BW came along and listed what they wanted to change in the game to keep it running with the next 'live expanson'/Retail Expanson, would anyone anyactally considering returning/continuing?
Bioware doesn't "technically" own WAR, EA does, and Bioware is now a division of EA's MMO/RPG group which is headed by Ray Muyzka. Both sub companies, Bioware and Mythic report to Muyzka, Mythic does not report to Bioware.
Anyway, WAR has no hope to get me to come back. The only thing that would get me to try the game again would be a complete overhual, starting with using a new gaming engine. Using the same engine that they used for DAoC (over 7 years old or so) was a huge mistake. The game is clunky, glitchy, slow and just really badly coded. Combat just feels very slow and sluggish, and for a game that is supposed to be about the RvR/PvP, you can't have that. Fix that, and everything else will eventually fall into place. You can change tier 4, remove SCs or add more, add new dungeons, change itemization, etc, all you want, but if the game doesn't play well, then who cares.
Nah it's too late for WAR. MMO's only get 1 shot, and that's at release. If it left a bad taste (and WAR did) then that's it. AOC and Vanguard both made a ton of improvements, but it's too little too late.
that ^^ is a very true coment.
Anyways...
Bioware will be more interested in their own game and will be happy to get lessons from games like WAR and VG etc on what not to do when releasing a game so hopefully Old Republic is a success. Oh and EA/Mythic should take the hint from so many players and start working on Daoc 2.

Nah games can have second chances EVE is an example of that, however games that manage to came back never really reach there full potential sub wise. WAR could become the best game on the market yet because of all the bad word of mouth it'll more than likely never see more than a few 100k subs.

Agreed with both. Will not be back to WAR.
Dark Age 2 yes. If it resembles WAR or WoW and not the original im out. Forever.
I also cannot get the main page to load, which tells me 1 of 2 things: 1) they braught it down for updates or from peoples spamming the forums. or 2) updating to a new site. /shrug Let's hope it's a positive thing.

No reboot can save WAR. WAR is over and out.
WAR's designed is flawed at it's core. The engine is a shambles. They would have to rewrite the whole game to fix all the mess that is current WAR.
Ain't ever gonna happen. Hence the reason Mark could take a hike.
Mythic had a chance to make something great with the Warhammer IP and they blew it.! Simple as that! And all because they were constantly drooling over WoW and turned it into a horrible boring, bland and unimaginative game, instead of taking the best out of their own game DAoC and used that as foundation.
Nothing but morons and speculation run rampant any more, its sickening. NO WHERE does this post from EA say that he was canned, left under duress, or that he wanted to take a vacation from the MMO world. Stop putting your words into a company's mouth.
Listen kid, some of us are out in the real world and know very well how corporate bureaucracies work. Actions speak louder than words. No matter what Bioware or EA says, the actions are clear:
1) Lead Dev of Mythic is gone
2) Bioware heads are in charge
The last thing you want to listen to is corporate BS when the opposite of what is said is happening. The fact that Mythic & Bioware are merged into some new group hints to the speculation that Mythic will be gutted for Bioware's new MMO.
As I have stated, this is a standard corporate tactic. No, it's not good. Good would have been Marc Jacobs being replaced without the structural changes. Like Funcom did with AoC. Not doing some corporate re-shuffling and throwing the studio under the heads of a competing studio.
Bioware co-founders may have the best intentions and even want to fix Warhammer but their priorities are their own games, first & foremost. EA throwing Mythic under Bioware means that they are concerned about salvaging Mythic's talent and not salvaging Warhammer.
I dunno, scenarios in WAR were very well implemented. In terms of content, the problem were city sieges (the wonderful end-game).

All depends on the server. I was on Dark Crag, I rarely had any problems either doing a PQ with a group, getting scenario pop or jumping into a RvR warband. The population was high enough for all three to be going on. If I was in solo mode, I would do quests or grind PQ rep while in queue for scenarios.
As I have stated, Warhammer showed amazing potential. But as predicted by the level 40s, once you get to Tier 4, the game loses most of its edge. Still, in terms of mass RvR/PvP, there is no better game out there.
mm at this point this game have only one option and its to forget p2p model
why?the folks that p2p this game got already burned and bad mounthed this game enough to last a long time
that being said if they lowered min.system req to the min of silkroad without getting rid of the max they already got
plus made this game f2p ,a la ddo .they would probably makes ton of money
right now whats against them is the min system req its too high witch leave the biggest chunk of player out
you got to remember p2p is a very small market compared to f2p
if f2p wasnt a good system nexon would have quited a long time ago same for joymax and all the other
who are in the f2p
if they dont change this game to be avail to those who already can play silkroad
and if they dont go the f2p route
then this game will die soon
even wow is trying to add various ways to supplement p2p
i bet if blizzard could do it all over again they would probably have went the f2p route like they intended when they made this game
dungeon and dragon online will be succes they ll have p2p and f2p store base system
and if they support from very low system to say biggest single gpu computer
customer wont be a problem .
most game right now just support new system but ignore all the other customer who have old computer witch is the one that would make their game popular very few player can afford computer newer then 5 year old in the world
and most game support only 4 year and newer and thats where they make the biggest mistake
add to that that if they support it you got to be an accrobat to activate the feature and you got a game that fail before even being turned on lol

Please give me a link that confirms that Mythic was "PUT UNDER" BW.
I am playing right now and I am having a great time. If bioware put there hands on War I hope it brings good things. So to answer the OPs question then Yes. Plus someone made a comment about "kids". Are you serious? You are as much of a kid as all of us are. You write on a gaming forums and Don't bring age into this lol.
im not sure whats going on here...games workshop owns warhammer ip...not bioware, and mythic made the damn warhammer mmo...not bioware. so wtf are you on about?

and most game support only 4 year and newer and thats where they make the biggest mistake
add to that that if they support it you got to be an accrobat to activate the feature and you got a game that fail before even being turned on lol
If they just simply added a third realm, then it would be a great game.
They would have to literally trash everything WAR is now, and make up something completely new.
I dont know if it is simple...but i agree that a 3rd realm would have helped this game soooooo much.
im not sure whats going on here...games workshop owns warhammer ip...not bioware, and mythic made the damn warhammer mmo...not bioware. so wtf are you on about?
