I have to ask. Are melee classes killing clerics, sorcerers and chanters really quick in this game, does the typical cloth class in this game not have a "get out of jail" card, so they are not stuck in the same spot only to get smashed. I love casters and only play casters, but I want to make sure I'm not an assasins easy kill. I here everyone plays templars is this true?

Templars are the most highly played warrior class, but as far as all classes go there are by far the most people playing Sorcerers in both the north american and asian flavours of Aion. The Assassin seems to have become the melee class of choice in the North American closed betas, being the second most played class behind the Sorc.
The casters are rather fragile, but they more than make up for it with their massive DPS. They also have a few skills that can save their butt in pvp vs melee classes.
Clerics on the other hand are actually formidible on their own, they can take a beating and can dish out some serious magic DPS along with their heals; if played correctly they are quite the force in late-game pvp.
Yeah I like the cleric from the video I saw. There was also I class that summoned pets, which one was that, and will Ranger be OP as well kinda like the hunter was lvl 60 in WOW......sorry for the wow reference.
Ranger is actually very underpowered at the moment, their basic attack is a complete waste of arrows, better off just waiting for skill cooldown and saving the money on disposables.
Spiritmaster, or SM for short is the pet summoning class.
It wouldn't kill people to do some degree of research before they start posting. For example, exactly how long does it take to discover that Clerics and Chanters are NOT the cloth wearers in this game?
If there is a large lvl gap between the players then yea you are gonna see some fast kills (assassins are the best at it because of there stealth and burst damage). Sorcerers at mid lvl are also very good at quick kills (and in the abyss when they are nuking and flying).
Templar at max lvl with very good gear is a beast. Not too many assassins & rangers will want to take them on 1vs1.

Note: The Templar has a paralysis Godstone on his weapon. And the Gladiator has an extendable Poleaxe for longer range.

I am soo sorry High Grand Wizards Dantes of the Green Elves of Endoralon, please forgive me, I did not read the scriptures from the forest elementals. Do not summon the Clerics of Time to force me to research things for 10,000 years, when all I wanted to do was make the magical forums of Mmorpgia a little more active. I will now quest for you the Sword of Omens so that we may ride high to the mountains of SomethingorOther.
And yes the Cleric can wear cloth.
The "pet" summoning class is the Spiritmaster, also a specialized class descending from the Mage. The pets are all actually elementals, earth, wind, water, and fire types are available, each with different abilities.... one is more of a tank, one dps, etc...

The downside of playing an assassin is if you keep up with the first wave of players gear with be extremly scarce as there are going to be so many assassins playing. Likewise the upside of playing a Ranger (like myself) is that nobody else will really have any use of bows so they will sell fairly cheap.
