Is there confirmation that FFXIV is what was being called 'Rapture"?

    I know what you are talking about and  the answer is no. no confirmation. In all likelyhood Rapture was a name aquired be SE for FFXIV and the Idea was scrapped or there is something else in the works.

    If FF14 is rapture then it is a codename while in "project" status much like the Gamecube was called "The Dolphin" when it was in project status. Just a name symbolizing something about the game before it got its official press release. Though to answer the question, no I havent heard them say that FF14 and rapture are one in the same...though it is assumed they are by many.

    There was confirmation that the Rapture Project is FFXIV. I'll look to see if I can find the article I read it in later and I'll edit if i can find it/remember to look.

    Yes it is I can't link you to the exact place where it was confirmed but you can see the clear history of the game here.

    They were supposed to announce what Rapture was at E3 2009 and they did.
