Well I can't argue that he was a legend, but his music sucked. Except when he was with the Jackson 5. They made some decent music.
RIP, legend

Lol what? His music was awesome. If his music sucked then what made him a legend? His plastic face or his convictions?
We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.
The entire middle east could now go into a Nuclear War, and it wouldn't make the news.
Rest in Peace Michael Jackson.
"Rumors are circulating that there were prescription strength pills at the scene."
..... Shit... here we go again. Another "Overdose, or not?" scandal for the next 6 months. Anna Nicole Smith: Turbo Edition.. there will be nothing else on the news, ever.
Wait.. I don't watch the news.. phew.

Well I guess if you like pop, you might think so. To me it's not good music. The one song I kinda liked in high school was Beat It. But most of his songs sounded too similiar to one another. I'm just giving my objective opinion. I feel bad for him and his children.
RIP
That's known as "Boston syndrome", btw. It has a better ring than ".38 Special syndrome".
His best song by far.

In Boston's defense, they usually waited a decade before releasing an album and while the songs sounded the same you still looked forward to hearing new ones. A decade is a long time between albums so time worked in their favor.
As for Michael Jackson, while never really a fan, I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. Being only a couple of years older than myself I feel he died far too young. I think he should have had the opportunity to attempt the comeback he was working on when he died. Over the last 15 years he had too much attention focused on his rather bizarre and troubled life than on his talent. I suppose we will never know if he could have pull it off now. I can imagine how his fans are feeling right now since as a teen as I was a huge John Lennon fan and I remember how I felt when he died far too young also.

You mean his acquittals?
Oh man, it didn't take long for that picture to make it to the net. Kinda sad though. Done for a quick buck, I'm sure.

The one you posted on the "What song are you listening to" thread is one of his better songs. Also off one of his first solo albums. I think his music declined as he aged, although that's not uncommon for most musicians.
Like I said, I think his best stuff was with the Jackson 5. Sample
His name is Michael Jackson, not Micheal Jackson.
The Thriller video was legendary. And legends never die.
Thoughts and prayers to M. Jackson and his family.
ASIDE: I would be remiss if I did not mention how I never liked how the media destroyed him, and others, because of his various diseases and eccentricities. I am not sure in any lifetime one person was so attacked by the media and others.
Nice job posting a picture of a patient mid-code. Whatever you think of the person this is just low class and sleazy.
Personally i think the media leaches that take these kind of images should be arrested.
Imagine how you'd feel if this was your mother/ brother/ child?
Happy to say I haven't seem any news coverage of this event since I decided to euthanize my television.

I will be honest, not trying to be disrespectful to those that cared for him, but in my honest opinion, I did not respect his music, or him as a person. Self mutilation, self absorbtion, and I thought his music blew chunks. Never saw any talent there, sorry, just a guy living the high life ( literally so doped up on meds that he didn't know what the real world was) over sensationalized self hating emo nut case. Turns out his over self medicated emo state did him him, and that is no surprise to me. I am sorry, but someone who is so self absored to undergo multiple plastic surgeries to change themselves when there was nothing wrong with them to begin with gets NO respect from me. Sorry if that offends those that partake in those feelings, but I do not share my sympathys with those that are that self absorbed.
He set a poor example for mankind. each person on this planet is a work of art in themselves. why hate what you are? he neever accepted who he was, lived his life in denial, and tried to carve himself in his ideal image rather than realizing life was too short to appreciate what was really important in this world. The world will be a better place without the plastic surgery junkies.
You might cut the guy a little slack.
There's no denying he was terribly abnormal especially in his later years.. but you throw a kid immediately into showbiz and give him wealth and stardom before he even has a chance to have a childhood.. I think it would make anyone insane. I think with people like Elvis and Jackson what screws them up so bad is they don't have circumstances or people that ever tell them "no."
And just for the record I still have tunes from off the wall and thriller on my ipod.... sorry if people disagree but in the genre of pop he made some classics.

Everyone can calm down now. Jesse Jackson has gotten involved and is going to get to the bottom of this no matter how much his face gets put on the TV and in the newspaper.
Try telling to a boulimic that her body is fine and see what reaction you get.
All people are self absorbed, just most of them are not that rich and famous to get away with it, and if memory serves I think he had self image problems even before he was made famous, so not really surprising. Each person's image for themselves comes from external factors and then internal. Try convincing a kid, hell even an adult that their self is a piece of art when everybody else sees them as a pile of junk. Some people hate themselves because they have accepted what they are and they don't like it. Believe me there is plenty of reasons to hate yourself if you think about it.
He made good music imo, but for me the sad thing is that he fell victim to his own self.
A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.
RIP MIchael Jackson... we need to keep this thread on the first page forever so everyone can honor his life
