I have and still play City of Heroes regularly. Probably the first MMO I've found that gets soloing/grouping right.
I've looked at some of the videos of Champions Online and I'm very unimpressed. They have a few cool notions, but I've seen nothing there that would make me consider switching. I'm particularly dismayed with the 7 power/ability limit, which, as I understand it, was put in to accomodate consoles.
I did not respond to your poll because I did not lose interest due to lack of info or the wait, but rather the yawn factor of what I've seen and read.
Personally, I don't find the superhero setting stimulating.
Youre not the only one, hoho.
Speaking of this.. I have a trial account of City of Heroes, and I have rolled something like a "school girl with superpowers". Something that reminds me carrie or some animes like Haruchi.
It has powers to summoon storms, and make people fly... .and I have made she wear total normal stuff (looks like a npc) with a cute cat in the arm :-)
Is somewhat weak, but it rocks as a hero :-)
TL;DR version:
You can create Haruchi (from the SOS brigade) in CoH.

What 7 power limit?
From the April 27th Ask Cryptic:
Different powers are on different economies. For example, as the game stands right now, there are many sorcery variants (different circles of power) which cost advantage points instead of active power points because they’re all mutually exclusive to each other – you’d only have one going at a time. You’ll get 14 powers plus one movement power plus one endurance power. Every character will get 34 advantage points, total, to spend. This may change before launch.
Plus there are going to be abilities/powers through crafting
Healing is going to primarily come from telepathy, gadgeteering and sorcery sets. They’re going to be simple directed heals. There will be some special purpose heals in both martial arts and supernatural. There will also be healing from gear.
Additionally, every crafting school has two different healing items they can make, and those are thematically different for the different schools. Players can build those and give them to their friends or trade them. So players could gather multiple healing items from the different crafting schools. Each school has one that gives you a preemptive amount of healing ahead of time, and then one that heals you after you’ve been hit. They function differently for the different crafting schools. Science has nanobots that heal you over time, for example, or that can provide a shield of sorts ahead of time that will protect you from a certain amount of damage.
I can't wait for this game to be released personally. I'll take the lack of forum activity as good news, considering the caliber of "noise" most other games are getting.

How about "NDA keeps me from talking about it"?
Yup. So it is. ^^

maybe the CO forums in here are dead cause the official site forums rocks!!!
Yeah, people don't need this forum to discuss the game in the first place.
