Christmas in WAR?

OK, this might very well be the srangest thing I've ever experienced in ANY game...

I recently re-subbed to WAR. Last night I was chatting with another character in Sorcerer's Axiom and a high level character was running around us as a chicken (we know why!). All of a sudden the person I'm chatting with tells me the "chicken" just gave her three pieces of high level rare gear. We figured the person was cancelling their account and was giving away their stull. I pretty much forgot about it.

Later that evening, the same thing happened to me. I was in Death's Brink and a "chicken" asked me if I needed any gear. I said yes and they gave me a bunch of high level rare items and promptly logged off. I decided to send the person a mail to thank them and the mail system said the character didn't exist. Weird.

OK, it gets stranger. This morning, after the servers came back up, I had several mails. I went to check them and another character sent me a total of 1,212 gold. I went to send them a mail asking why, and the system said the character doesn't exist. OK, now I'm worried.

I'm looking for advice. I'm kind of concerned about using the gold or the items because I don't want to get accused of buying them. Anyone have this happen to them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing like that has happened to me, but if it did, I would spend that money and wear that gear like I earned it.  LOL

Maybe its one of the way to make players stay, since the leaving of MJ may cause some panic among players, or its just a marketing ploy..

No worries, just wear it and spend the money...
