I haven't seen an announcement of the N.A. publisher. But I think that The Adventure Company holds the rights to the game Dark Fall.
Not saying that means anything, just saying.
I checked with the USPTO. The Adventure Company's application seems to have been suspended until they prove their foreign, presumably British, registry. They also seem to have some other issues to clarify.

What does DARK(space)FALL and The Adventure Company have to do with DARKFALL and Aventurine SA
If you follow the link he provided and download the pdf from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) you would find that it is indeed talking about Aventurine and DarkFall.

It is now July 2nd. The game opens in 5 days in NA. Still no word on who the publisher is? How about where do you buy the client? When will you be able to buy the client?
I was thinking about buying the NA client to give the game a shot, esspecially with this "Expansion" coming out. How ever I like to be an informed consumer. If I can't find the info I need 5 days before release, then I don't see the point in continueing the search.
I never seen a gaming company give so little information for something like this. You would think by now that you would know at least where to buy the client.

yeah ...actually that is the plan
what they plan on doing is releasing the NA server and not telling anyone where it is....ever..yeah thats the ticket!

Um lets see. the server opens on the 7th. So I have to wait till then to find out where to buy the client? On their new page?
First, I know they stated they were going to have a new web page. But why after all this time do a new web page? They could have used that time to update the current page. There have been plenty of posts about that already.
Second, I would have to set up an account, and probably download the client. Which no one knows how long the download may take or where it is coming from. Which means since I would have to look for it after work I would not be able to play until the 8th. Sorry not acceptable.
Third, Since MO even with a delay on it's beta. You know what is going on and the game is not to be released till later this summer or year. AION is released in NA in September. Yet you can pre-order it already and know where to download the client. Yet Darkfall being released in "LESS THAN ONE WEEK" has no info. This is "NOT ACCEPTABLE".
Forth, stop posting nonsense. We know you could care less about the company and its doings. You only care about having fun in a game. So you have nothing to contribute to this topic.

I still am not clear.
What good is it to know where you can buy the game before you can actually buy it?
I think its 99% likely that "where you can buy it" will be a huge "buy now" button on the new website and if you were told that before hand I am not sure what good it would do you anyway until you can actually buy it..
So I guess I am still unclear how the information would be helpful

If consumers have no info on the product, they tend to loose interest. Darkfall needs ALL the interst it can get. I don't see this going in their favor.

It should matter to Aventurine more than the players, actually. There's generally a huge chunk of sales that occur at launch, due to the marketing, hype, pre-orders, etc... If players don't know how, when and where to buy the game then they won't. That, ultimately, is damaging to the company.

It seems you enjoy arguing more than acutally discussing valid points. I care less about game companies than I do about the actual games, but I also recognize that there are business aspects of game development and publishing that should be addressed in order for a game to ultimately succeed, both philosophically and financially.
Aventurine had a vision and they haven't quite pulled it off. They got atheir game out the door, and aspects of it are fun, but it wasn't ready for release, even after 8 years in development. After that long, it should have been a home run, but it wasn't. Why? Was it due to a lack of funding? Was the game rushed out because they needed money? Is it because Aventurine just doesn't have enough talent, business acumen or common sense?
I want Darkfall to succed, but I question Aventurine's ability to make it happen.

Heh, that's fine that you have a different opinion on the topic than just about every other MMO player in existence.
You'll have to forgive us though if we call you out on your wacky opinion. We do the same for Darth when he tries to convice us that he is not alone in his thought process.

The issue here is not that you have a different opinion. I think what people shake their head at is your tendancy to use assumption to support your opinion yet criticize anyone else for doing the same.
AV has had a horrible track record so far. They have one of if not the lowest subscriber base of any active MMO. You are pinning your hopes that they will have a shiny new website with a big "BUY ME" button on the front when you have no supporting evidence to indicate that is the case. A new website could be anything and given the quality of service so far from AV , chances are it will not be that good.

Established Code
Code growth (free content and patches)

All of these things encompass an MMO. AV has failed at most of them to some degree. It takes all of these parts to be successful... Disregard any of these and you are shooting yourself in the foot.
Your view about code is flawed... TV is nothing more then a digital signal... the quality of that signal while having an effect does not make a show great... There are many other factors that go into it then just the technical side.

just the game...sorry if that makes you guys all upset.
i'm still unclear, do you like the game? the actual game itself as in the actual game?
or is it the code in itself, apart from the nike syndrome ?!
please elaborate, thank you.
yes I like the game the actual game.
what exactly would you like me to elaborate on.
Your age and you previous playing experience over the last 11 years....
Seanmcweirdo posted on forumfall not too long ago that his previous MMO experience consists of 9 months on an EQ2 PVE Server. AND NOTHING ELSE. So he never played a well working Sandbox obviously. Nuff said.
Oh and he is actually "taking a break" from DF to work on "Neverwinter Night Mods". lol.
And he talks a lot about his Pen&Paper Fantasies...as we all know.

I checked with the USPTO. The Adventure Company's application seems to have been suspended until they prove their foreign, presumably British, registry. They also seem to have some other issues to clarify.
