3 questions for a potential comeback

SiyahSiyah Member Posts: 131

Hi all, can anyone please elaborate on the points below. Thank you

a) Is there more diversity in the look and feel of the armors and weapons from regular and instance drops?

b) What are the 3 key new features affecting gameplay in the new patch, besides the new zone?

c) How are PvP and crafting now?

I was in BETA and played for a couple of months after launch.

Thank you for your time again.

Yes there is! They have new armors and the culture armors of your race.
    b) What are the 3 key new features affecting gameplay in the new patch, besides the new zone?
    1. Classes have been revamped imo in a good way. 2. tabs are more organised 3. imo better flow of combat.
    c) How are PvP and crafting now?
IMO still not very good although gemcutting got a fantastic revamp.

    A.  yes, there are perhaps close to half a dozen full sets of cultural armor for each race, including other armors outside of the 3 playable races, this counts for both cloth and armor types

    B. 1. Accessibility. Funcom decided to cater more to the guild crowd by adding more options with in guild cities, instead of doing most of your working inside the main cities of , Khemi, Cornach and Old Tarantia,  players have the option of travelling to areas to and from in a much less time scale  for example, adding a path of asura option to be teleported directly to your guild city, or taking a route to the guild wagoneer to go straight to the main cities without much travelling, or to save your path for possible later use. so when time to form up to go to raids or sieges, they can make things move twice as fast for rallying spots.

        2.  Raids are said to be much more difficult now,  they are still being tweaked, but difficulty compared to pre and post patch is visible. with the new patch,  fighting kylliki hasnt been too bad, however fighting the champion felt far more difficult.

        3.  Class roles seem to be more towards sharing. several classes are twice as more responsible for aiding their group with their abilities. in pre patch,  responsibilities have mainly been with  tank, dps and healers ( and battle rezzer). with post patch, you have your tanks and supposed sub tanks ( dt and conq), stamina and mana battery (conq), your healers being abit more wide range, (dt, any healing class,  necro and their leeches). the sense of group cooperation has been enforced and feels more noticable than before, with that said, the margin of error in raids and battles is lesser than before, so half baked groups who are just there to suicide, die, and wait for a battle rez,  have to be more smart or find another occupation.

     C. Pvp is bare bones and incomplete, with the new patch, funcoms direction focused more towards the pve aspects, hence perhaps the wide amount of praise that it is getting compared to the pvp counterparts. with that said, Funcom has already claimed that they plan to do further tweaking towards pvp and for several classes.  to sum up pvp  for 1.05 it is more of the same like any other mmo using the Rock > paper> Scissor (soldier> rogue,  rogue>caster , caster>soldier)  formula. whether this method is a stepping stone for AOC's pvp to head to the next level remains to be seen. however   Polearm guardians are doing decent in pvp, making claims that their  dps output is higher than both  conqs and dt's.

crafting is the same, some things have changed but overall it is the same,  gems though is the new exhibition.

I think there may be some misunderstanding.

Yes, there are new armors, no, you will not see them until you are high level. You will still look the same at 40 as you did at 10.

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

    that part is very true,

specifically,  majority of armors you may come across will range from 75 to 80 , perhaps there maybe some of lower levels but i am not aware of them.
