Open Beta Begins

Sign-up and Account Creation Deactivation - Caydiem on 10/13/04
On Friday, October 15, the servers that handle both sign-ups and account creation will come down in preparation for Web-infrastructure updates. If you have a beta key that you have not yet activated, we strongly recommend you do so before Friday. You will be unable to create a closed beta account once we deactivate these services. As always, thank you for being patient with us while we work to bring you the best experience we can deliver.
And:
The World of Warcraft closed beta servers will be coming down for scheduled maintenance on both Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15. On Thursday, the downtime will begin at 6:00AM PDT and should last about four hours. On Friday, the downtime will begin at 6:00AM PDT and will last approximately ten hours. Thank you for bearing with us during this time!

If this does not signify that the open beta is getting close I don't what does. The highlighted part especially since it says that there will be a web-infastructure update to handle [b]signups[]. And with all the maintenance I believe that the open beta is very close....we can now taste it. All this preparation for this onslaught of open testers!!!!

I read the same thing and thought beta must be close. 

Then some guys in the beta forums said don't release yet, it's not ready!  This was Tyren's reply.  I still think that means signups could happen any time now.  He's just being vague.

Still not quite there yet folks, when we are closer we will make an announcement.

And also remember that in order for Open Beta to arrive, Open Beta signups have to arrive first.

 As Tyren said so...we can still sign up for OB but doesn't mean we could play right after that. We could have to wait 2 more weeks to play and I don't want to wait for that long , we all want to play it .

yeah many people in close beta right now talking about it. I've heard from a guy that he heard that GM was talking about open beta release in second half of october/beginning of november maybe be it was just an empty talk. but I fell open beta is coming. Past month there were only like 20 reports of bugs half of them probably not even real bugs some melfunctions. my friends waited for this day since stress test!

Know a person that works for beta, he said still no word on deffinate time of open beta begining.  Just that it is very soon.

half of me wants this game to be the uberness that i have been longing for since Lineage, the other half wants me to hate it so i dont feel like i wasted 100+ bucks buying CoH and a time card 2 weeks ago...

anyways... i hope it opens between 15th-22nd... if not, im out $20 >=/

hard to say though... lets just hope its sometime this month
