This is the first time ive gotten a chance at the beta and i made it to 10 and i just can't get myself to play any more.

Its just not fun anymore, WAR was fun for a lot longer than this the battle grounds at any time prob helped alot, but i still lost all interest.

Seems like all mmo's do this to me now. I canceled my preorder i mean aion's not bad, its a decent mmo not great. It might be a good time waster if i wasent worryed about the botting situation/ncsoft  being involved. But combine tho's things its just not worth the hassle.

edit: i didn't really give a good negative postive sense.

The flying is a decent fun attention grabber but its so limited in area's you can fly and and flight time that it ruin's the fun of it.

Classes i only played the scout ranger it was strong on the scout part soon as i hit the ranger lvl i felt weak as hell like i took a step back not exactly the feeling i want geting a advanced class.

The quests very very annoying collect this map/sack/flower/bones humm yes that would be fun not.... Now collect it while your competing against 6 other people waiting for it to spawn haha that's real fun aww man watching the grass grow, who's gonna grab it first aww it didn't load for me he already grabed it dang another 2 min wait.

It's not the only game who does that but i hate quests like that give me a kill quest over that crap sheer boredum.

I mean its hard to think about somthing positive about the game its not bad not buggy , just boring.

Same here I canceled since they sold out to the carebears.  Aion was suppose to have meaningful PVP but now it's all located in a playpen and they carebears get to go skipping through the rest of the world.

When they give us back our forced PVP I might take a second look.

Da hell did you get that idea from? What "little" playpen are you possibly talking about?

If you want to lvl faster and get better gear you go to the abyss, that's "forced" pvp. It's always been like that, it never changed so where on earth did you suddenly get the "carebear" feel from?

    This isn't wow buddy.

I feel the same way for the most part. It's the same old crap wrapped up in a shiny new package. Oh and we can fly once in awhile. :/

    Played: DAoC 6 years, WoW 2 years, Ultima/EQ 1+ years, AoC/Aion/Rift/SWTOR a few months
Tried: Warhammer, EQ2, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Runes of Magic and many, many others...
    Currently Playing: DAOC

Please don't confuse ganking low levels with PvPing. PvP is a two-sided fight. Rifts exist to reduce the former idiot form of killing players, although still providing a challenge (with the Penality system in 1.2 you will draw attention when you kill to many players in an enemy continent, this is good for those that are looking for some true PvP instead of camping newbs).

And for full PvP you still have the Abyss, no restriction PvPvE area. You can't backstab your own race, so what?

Sad to see your pre-order go, but maybe you're burned out of the MMORPG genre as a whole as the genre is a constant, no wheel reinventions and we will never know if it is possible until we see one, they never promissed it so that's why I'm sticking with Aion, with the plus I'm not burned out of the MMO genre, I can still get immersed and have fun.

  • bedrock1977bedrock1977 Member UncommonPosts: 38

I think your right Eric... I may just be burned out on the who MMO thing now. :/  I used to love Dark Age of Camelot.... played that for almost 6 years.... I've played every MMO out to date and cant stick with anything now.

Yeah, Aion was a big disappointment for me too. I've been waiting on 'that game' for a while, but I felt totally brain dead playing Aion. Nothing original about it at all. It really is unfortunate because I had high hopes.

    Back to Vanguard for me.

  • humwhahumwha Member Posts: 38

Ha thats funny Daoc is the first and only mmo i ever played for any length of time. The burnout is mmo's in general but i still have hope for some upcomming mmo's.

Im gonna give the beta another chance in a bit what class should i do.

Look, I like Vanguard .. but come on now.  VG is nothing more than EQ trying (poorly I might add) to be a bit like UO, minus any kind of real PvP (Sartok has what? 200 people maybe, and if you roll a druid you'll basically mow everything down). Heck VG has plenty of "Go kill 20 of these" and "Gather 20 of these" type quests, crafting is a repetitive and boring grind (In depth my left testicle), and diplomacy is nothing more than a card game. What is original? Please, enlighten me .. as I just don't see it.

    Mage, spiritmaster.

Powerful, yet hard to master. It takes a lot of quick thinking and timing to play it well.

"The flying is a decent fun attention grabber but its so limited in area's you can fly and and flight time that it ruin's the fun of it."

: Duh... because you haven't been to the flyable zone yet. Won't open up til level 25 or so... Only Abyss is fully flyable zone. You can only glide in all other zones. You can drink potions to rejuvenate your flight time and wear gears with additional flight time.

"Classes i only played the scout ranger it was strong on the scout part soon as i hit the ranger lvl i felt weak as hell like i took a step back not exactly the feeling i want geting a advanced class."

:/sigh... Scout isn't even a class... the first zone which you pop into is a zone for you to familiarize with Aion. How can you even feel like you are an advanced class at level 10? You probably didn't even have a chance to go grab spells. In PVP, rangers are pretty annoying class to run into.

"The quests very very annoying collect this map/sack/flower/bones humm yes that would be fun not.... :Ok you are probably right... there aren't that many innovative quests in Aion. It's about go talk with xxx, go kill xxx, go forage xxx. However when the game first opens up of course there will be a huge number of people trying to compete to do the same quest. Think about it... there are probably 100s of ppl trying to do the same quest as you. If you play for longer period and when people start to spread out you will see less of this. Looking at your complaint... this must be your first time starting a game from the very first phase.

"It's not the only game who does that but i hate quests like that give me a kill quest over that crap sheer boredum."

:Don't worry lots of kill quests later... And there are quests which are connected to each other

"I mean its hard to think about somthing positive about the game its not bad not buggy , just boring."

:I think the best part of Aion was when there are two factions fighting for a named in Abyss... you will see tons of people flying around to either Jack the mob or screw their engagement. But other than that... I think Aion is just like all other mmo's...

i could play the whole game in beta of korea and china .what is so much special about aion europe or amercia beta ? that they are not opening it up? are they hiding something ?? yes its the lack of end game content.they just want you to buy their boxes ,pay for subs for 2-3 months .so they can atleast generate revenue which they put up in the game. its pure negligence on plaync part .bad marketing practice really!!!i got an email from plaync stating that this will be their beta test .look closely and none of them states that you can play above 25 lvl .

drbaltazar, I'm having a difficult time understanding your position.

You state in another thread that all MMOs suffer from bots and hacks, but advocate F2P games over P2P games even going as far as to say that several P2P games should go F2P.

This is where the problem starts.

I'm familiar with almost all P2P and F2P MMOs as I've tried just about all of them. And I can say that I've experienced far more botting, hacking and cheating in F2Ps. In fact I had to quit my favorite F2P (Sword of the New World) because there was no way for me to be competitive in that game since I refused to bot. Yes you could afk level, but you didn't make nearly as much vis or xp as a botter as the bots ran around seeking out mobs (when you AFK'ed you got one or two mobs at a time till respawn).

Silkroad is another F2P where I encountered massive amounts of bots and hacks. So many bots are online 24/7 that most people can't even log into the game to play it. Yet, once again, you say such wonderful things about SRO in a different thread.

I just don't get it. Perhaps it's a bit of  misunderstanding as it seems that English isn't your native language, and if that's the case I apologize.

sorry if i give wrong idea but the bot problem is as mutch in p2p as it is in f2p and f2p have evolved to the point that if i go to ebgame and find a game im like why would i pay at start and i might not like the game when i can get often = quality of content for  no initial cost

yes i know that on a period of 12 months the cost of f2p and p2p will end up pretty mutch the same

but ,its just that since i baugh lotr, then aoc, then war etc and i haven played more then 15 hour in each

thats the view i got i dont feel like i got my moneys worth

WOW was the only game i actually can say i got my moneys worth

so my average in p2p succes isnt very high .its the main reason now that im very shy when it comes to any game

more so since my computer is fairly old ,witch make f2p even more interesting (yep old computer suck)

Vanguard has WAY more depth than this game, I'm sorry you don't see that. Where's depth in Aion? The whole game is just very standard, it's a WoW clone but without all WoW's content, though I will give it credit where it's due - it has the best characters models and animation I've seen. Anyway, I agree with the OP, pretty disappointing game..I might give it another go at some point, but I only lasted about 3 weeks on the chinese servers until I got bored, though a lot of that is because I couldn't interact with the other players, since most can't speak English.

Who says they are hiding stuff, they just test what they want to test still 3 closed and an open beta to come and none knows what it will bring yet

There is nothing to master at least from lvl 10-16 spiritmaster there isn't thats how far I got with mine.

Is just like playing any other mmo bind your keys let your pet attack first so he take the first few hit, then you cast boom dead mob.

Hell spiritmaster got some pretty good spells so you can pretty much 1hit mobs.

It's funny you say that. When a buddy asked me if the game was any good (he was interested in playing the beta with us) I told him it felt like a polished version of Vanguard. I really can't say this game feels like a "WoW" clone.

so they often go by elimination
first p^lace everybody want to save is money

    first day cost
x game is 100 $ first day cost
e game is   0$ first day cost

I have yet to see an f2p game that doesn't make you rely on the item mall. That includes RoM.
Now, if you were talking about singleplayer games, I'd pat your back and say "Well done, son". But you didn't, so I won't.

The only thing that's killing me right now is the fact that you cant turn/move when talking to npc's or turn while casting...

So you guys seem to like PvP, and seem knowledgeable enough to know that for the most part from level 25-Max is in a PvP area, but you judged the game and wrote it off after never getting to 25 or even past lvl 10?  Just making sure I am getting this right.
