New player question.

Just out of curiosity, if one was to start over from scratch, and start a new char and does not own any expansions, and doesn't want to play any of the new races:

Should “this person” play the old game, or should they buy the expansions first?

Until they hit no-expansion max level that is.

I don' tthink you can buy just basic wow, I think it comes with BC now.

You don't need Wrath until 68 anyway.

Its entirely up to you, what class did you have in mind?

Well I own just the basic. And I use to play pre BC. As far as class, my favorites are shaman and warlock.

There is really no reason to buy any of the expansions at first if you do  not want to play any of the expansion races.

That said classic WoW is also bundled with the expansions in Battlechests and the price increase for the bundle is pretty small.

You dont need an expansion till atleast 58 so with or without the expansion except for some crafting proffesions nothing changes.

you can still use all the expansion items etc found in ah so dont need the expansion to fully enjoy the game till 58-60
