yes and no to be honest. Yes to the fact it is an asian style grinder but they toned down the grind considerably and added a ton of quests and such to help appease the western crowd.
Well its hard to tell, not sure how many people have played levels 30-50 on the NA servers. Not sure if they will tweak the game to bee more in tune to what westerners want.
It does have a very korean mmorpg feel to it, which isnt a bad thing necessarily. Right down to the player shops with the "cheapest gear!" at 100x the market price -,-
its a fun game so far, it has some flaws, most are fixable and others you just accept and forget about em. Not sure if its worth the $50 for the box though....all depends on levels 30 to endgame i guess...and patch intentions.
Not at the slightest dude, i HAVE NOT KILLED HUNDREDS OF MOBS just to lvl, I have killed stuff via quests and a deep storyline as to why I am killing stuff, you wont be revealed your true self till around lvl 10, but as you notice, npc's will notice something ''special'' about you.
So far I've only done the first five levels and they've been a mix of kill and collection quests, though from what I've seen there isn't much more a MMO can improve on in the early levels. I just hope that there are more dungeons or PvP available in the later game for my priest to heal in.
The game looks great if graphics are important to you though if you've played WoW for any length of time then quests will be familiar. I'm hoping that things improve in later levels but at the moment not sure if this is the game I'll quit WoW for.

Almost all MMOs have a lot of grinding, AION is the same as the rest.
If you think Wow doesn't have any grind youll fit right in, if you prefer Guildwars youll be dissapointed.
But really youll have to try for yourself to decide this, if it is too much for you then upcoming TOR and Guildwars 2 will be the games for you, but many players do want some grinding, taste differs.
But if you asked if the grind is as bad as in L2, the answer is no.

For you, someone incapable of doing even the most basic search for the answer to your question, yes... it will be a horrific tasking nightmare.

Barely worse then WoW's 1-80, which isn't that bad considering Ncsoft past titles.
