I am a little worried that this game might be as good as I think it is. . . .

You have a good reason to be worried.

Barring a couple things that might go wrong, I'm thinking this is going to be fucking AWESOME.

    I beg to differ.

Of course, for the theme-park loving connect-the-dots type, it might be a bit too much...

Not that there's anything wrong with people who enjoy theme park, connect-the-dots type games....

and they seem to suffer less anger issues.

FE might rock, but odds are strongly against it..... as is true with every new MMORPG no matter who is developing it.

    Unless you're Blizzard of course.

Odds are strongly against themepark-drones making it across the street alive without a glowing line to show them how, and yet they somehow manage.

I think FE will be fine. Everyone always predicts doom and gloom for anythng that dares to defy the clone formula.

FE has potential but needs time, without time it shall be without subs, with time and direction it could lead many MMO gamers to a radiation filled promised land. It is the time of wait...or....go, a point many games reach and many choose poorly, and as a result...well...no need to disturb the dead MMOs of life past.

I am not impressed, but I am going to keep my eye on this one.  Let's see where it goes.  And then there's always Earthrise...

    Current Games: WOW, EVE Online

It's important to remember that Fallen Earth is still in beta (as in, a real beta not a "marketing hype beta").  They have not announced a release date yet, and have always said it would launch "when it is ready".  It's already addictive and fun, and if they keep improving from here and spend the time tweaking before they commit to a launch date, it will be a really great game.

FE is definately different, in a very good way. I can't wait for retail release.

    can't say more then:

if they take the time they need, this game might be better as you think :)

    Go FE go ....

yeah, i hope they take their time with this one.

    much promise.

I cant say that I am in the beta, but what I can tell you is that this game is really advanced for where its currently supposed to be. It seems to need a litttle more work on its performance, but the graphics and gameplay are very well done at this stage. Overall, the game is quite entertaining. Its heavily crafting involved, but not everyone has to craft, if you choose not to.. you can just purchase items in the AH. What I do hope is that this game does not turn into a gear grind game. If its going to stand on its own, its going to need substance outside of Wow. Like player owned cities, open world pvp, and a player ran economy... if done well, (doesnt have to be great) this game will grab a niche and will survive for a long time. as long as it stays around 500k subs, it will be succesful.

Yes im not in the beta either... Loving it. Cant wait until launch. Though the devs do have some work to do stomping out some bugs.  This will be my MMO salvation.

  • FluteFlute Member UncommonPosts: 455

Shhhh there are some things you are not meant to admit.  That said, there is a partiular forum you should check to see if this is a known issue (some settings-based workarounds are in there), and you should absolutely /bug it.  Assuming ... you know.

I'm not  a big fan of the Mad-Max genre.....which is about the only reason I'm not all pins and needles over this one.

Hypotheticaly, if I was allowed to speak about the current status of the game....I would probably say it was pretty kick-arse for the stage it was in.

Now, if this game was exactly the same but had a Space - SciFi setting rather then a Post-Apocalyptic one....I don't think I'd have enough free time to post here.

Sorry but 500k subs ain't a niche thats mainstream and more successful than LOTRO and WAR lol. I hope it succeeds but i can't see it getting that many subs tbh.

Some people seem to have a pretty unrealistic expectation of subscription numbers. It won't even get a tenth of that.

I see you all going on about how this game is special, theme-park games suck, etc.

What does this game do that's different and special? You still quest.

If you get bored of questing you can go craft,  work for others, or just generally reenact things you do in real life. What's great about that?

Yeah, you're right. All MMORPG games in the end are just the same. I canceled all games i subscribed to last week and choose to play WoW instead.

I would advice everyone to do the same, why bother really?

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
