And almost no one seems to care.

I mean, seriously, order has successfully pushed to stage 2 of IC multiple times and taken our king several times. Can you even remember the last time destro even made it to stage 2 of Altdorf? Don't even give me that crap of "destro needs to step up it's game." That might have worked a few months ago, but now we're to the point where destro really CAN'T field the numbers to match order zergs.

I've been a part of keep defenses that have 2 destro warbands attempting to protect a pair of keeps while order literally sent 100+ players to both keeps SIMULTANIOUSLY. On July 1st, order pushed through keeps and forts in what seemed record time, while destro could barely manage to scrape up 2 - 3 warbands to fight against them.

The fact is that destro has been gradually losing more and more over the past few months and the more we lose, the more our side gets demoralized. The more demoralized one side gets, the less it wants to play.

In fact, that's part of the problem. Order has been winning so much, that many destro players have rerolled just so they can try winning. There are some of us (like myself) who hate order enough that they would never roll an order character and will simply quit.

And for all of you that are going to say something like "if your side does this" or "if your guild did that" need to shut your mouth right there! I'm not here to waste my time on what the problems are. Most of us are well aware of them. What I want to know is what are we, as the players, going to do about it? Whining and finger pointing aren't doing crap all.

The main problem, IMO, is a massive population imbalance at this point and the one thing that makes this the most obvious is what I asked at the beginning. When have you last seen destro in stage 2 of Altdorf on ANY server?

So, seriously now, Ruin, AoN, Hate, Dominus Letum, Coven, Onslaught, what are we going to do?

Black Crag has become the flag ship server of warhammer and if this server goes down, then I guarantee this game will go down with it.

    Nice. One post. LOL

Come on. There must be thousands of fanboys out there, you can do better than that. After all, you did say, "the only server Fanboi's all shout about is Dark crag"

BTW, what this dude is complaining about in the post is the lack of balance. As a person who was involved in this RvR, there were plenty of Destruction players online to sucessfully hold off Order. How do I know this? I was there in The Maw with them entering Undercroft repeatedly while dying repeatedly. THEY were too busy whining about being locked out of their city to get into Undercroft and defend their realm. Its their own fault the city was taken.

The game is fine. The players are the problem.

EDIT: What the poster also has forgotten is that several months back Order was getting pummeled regularly by Destruction and eveyone was whining that the game was imbalanced in favor of Destruction. Go figure.

  • ObamaonicsObamaonics Member Posts: 33

The game is played out. . .was a few months ago.  Was a very nicely done and unique mmorpg experience, but it ran it's course. The classes were well balanced enough, but for me, the absolute redundency of the same scenarios, over and over and over again, and the lack of player tangible reward and dynamic game-play to push me to continue to play has left me to cancel.

But not a problem.  I honestly gained enough entertainment for money and time spent over the past 8 months to make the investment worth it, as it was with WoW several years before, then PotBS, then AoC.

I dont understand how many can stick it out for more than 6months to a year with the same of any title.  You get your entertainment value out of it and move on, no big deal.

Now on to Aion, which I think has more to offer than the afformentioned for the next 8 months. I'll even jump into Champions online.  It'snot like there's one game to rule them all or lacking of entertainment options.   /shrug

"The game is fine. The players are the problem."

I seem to remember that fan chant months back when the game was around 500k subs and falling. Fanbois said:

"You WoWfans are playing WAR all wrong. This game is fine. There is no lag problem. There is no endgame problem. There is no balance problem. You are the problem. Your computer sucks. Your server sucks. Your guild sucks. Your playing sucks. YOU SUCK. If you don't like it, leave the game and stop complaining!"

Now here we are at around probably under 200k subscriptions left in this game and probably half that amount are on the U.S. servers. The game is rapidly approaching a point of no return come the fall.

Are you sure you really want to revisit that again?

Sure do because it is the problem. I see it everytime there is a raid on IC. Players stading around whining that they can't get into the city so they can get their level 20 mount. They don't want to do anything about it, they just want to whine.

I firmly believe that people who say, "WAR sucks!" really mean "I suck at WAR".

I have never failed to have a good time since I came back to WAR. I always find players to goup with, have awesome RvR, and PQs. Apparently there are a lot of people who have the same experience as I do because I see them online all the time.

Have fun with your quips about the game and your predictions based on "probably" instead of hard data. I'm off to play WAR.

So you'd rather have everyone who thinks the game is the problem leave it? That's an AWFUL lot of people. What will happen to your server, Dark Crag, when all the Destro who are getting pounded daily take that attitude?

The last time fanbois told people to quit if they don't like WAR, Mark Jacobs got canned after he fired over a couple hundred people, lol. Do you realize what will happen THIS time?

I don't doubt you are having fun in WAR. The world takes all kinds. I actually met people who when they go to the dentist, they don't take anesthetic. They actually like being awake and clearheaded for the whole process of tooth repair; a bit strange but hey, who am I to argue with strange tastes?

Hard data is WAR had over "750K registered users" and over 100 servers. Now they don't. Based on that, predictions are easy. But we'll see how you feel once you finally hit T3. Half of the people here posted what you post months ago, hehe.

Six U.S. servers by Christmas, with none of those hitting "HIGH/HIGH".

I can't be bothered to look up 8 months of posting history but for at least 6 of them DC has been named on the top of the list of "Reroll to X" by *most* people who say such things.

Why? Quite simple, because it was one of the biggest servers left, if not the biggest.

I wouldn't say they call it a savior but when reroll came up, DC was the prime target mentioned, and not even just because it's core. Sometimes people don't even mention that.

Check out Warheap. DC's activity rating is the highest out of all the servers, it simply *is* the best choice.

LotD is providing the same exact situations that Darknessfalls had on DAOC.  Everyone flocked to it for the first month or so and PvP pretty much died for a while.  Why?  Because people want to experience the new content.

Well, just like Darknessfalls, people have experienced a good bit of it and PvP in T4 is going back up agian.  LotD and T4 is balancing out now and both areas are getting equal play right now.

Everything about LotD is a mirror to Darkness falls.  It only has a few flaws comparted to DF.  You can't solo well in it like you could in DF.  you can't enter any instances in the zone if you lose ocntrol, which kinda takes away a huge element of PvP in the zone.  Both are easily fixable over time too.

LotD does deliever especially if you are into ganking in small groups.  Just 2 days ago (on Dark Crag Order) I was part of a ganking team that survived in the zone for 2.5 hours.  If we completely wiped our fun would have been over.  We had to be smart in how we hunted down destro players.  We nearly wiped many times but someone would escape with a standard and use a resurreciton spell on me, the healer, and we would be back up on our feet.   We started out as 4 people and ended up with 6 vs an army of 30 destro.  Mind you we were a rag tag team of complete strangers with no Ventrilo or teamspeak.  It was a total DOAC moment.  It was the trhill I remember form DAOC.  There was risk in death.

Now if Mythic could only impliment that risk in more parts of the game the PvP would be perfect.

anyways LotD is all good.   Now if they would just hurry up and release that huge class balance patch that was put on hold (due to them realizing it was a rushed piece of crap and listening to their player base state that).

It came down to 4 servers really.  Dark Crag, Pheonix Throne, Iron rock, and Praag.  There are other servers but they are just very low pop.

The number of servers don't mean crap to subscription numbers.  This game is still averaging about 300k people.  Whether they are spread amongst 4 servers or 99 doesn't change the fact that this game as 300k subscribers.  It is actualy better that most of those people are on only 4 servers.  Just makes the game's community stronger and larger and more active.

The only thing that will kill this game is if EA does a jerk move and shuts it down because it doesn't meet their 500k goal or whatever that goal is.  150 - 300k is standard for an MMO this day and age.  If EA just lets it be, then it will stay around and make money for quite a few more years.

I think you forgot one of the biggest ones in comparison to DF.

In Daoc, if one realm had DF , there was always still third realm to RvR against. WAR doesn't have that luxury.

Also, those 300k aren't all in the US, it's hard to say how they are spread to be honest. From what I hear it seems the EU is still the most healthiest of the 3. (EU/US/RU)

Not sure what happened to the Taiwan release.

It's a shame in some ways really. One of the first games to have Oceanic servers for the Oceanic people and those servers have failed due to lack of Pop now.

There have been any number of times where I stayed in the Real World (I.E. not LotD) to protect the folks in LotD from being locked.  And with less members on my side, it was more guerrila-tactics-heavy; running around, snagging a thing or two, pulling the rug out from under Destro now and again, and harrassing in a way only an inferior force can do.

There's still RvR.  And it's not the huge 100v100 battles that chug the server down to almost nothing, either.  Also, the purges sometimes turn into 'holds'; a bunch of Destro holding us at base while their buddies run instances, swapping in and out groups as they go along.  I do a lot of spying; Land of the Dead hasn't killed RvR and it isn't likely to anytime soon.

Seriously... Anybody defending Mythic or WAR needs a reality check.  YES.  If you choose the right server, you won't have many problems finding pvp.  You will, however, have to deal with extreme lag (and by extreme I mean barely being able to move), server crashes (rare these days, but last time on DC it still happened), and population imbalance.  I played on Dark Crag since release, and I know for a fact the lag is horrendous.

I recently rolled on Praag, got to T4 a bit before LOTD was released, and SCs were taking an hour or more to pop (this was happening in T3 also).  LOTD released, and the RvR lakes had one faction in it, while the other faction was in LOTD.  I actually found a tiny bit of RvR in the lakes after LOTD, and maybe it's picked up by now.  The thing is, I'm done with WAR until I actually hear some good news.

Everyone I knew on DC quit long before LOTD.  The game is just not good enough.  They were given more than enough time to solve actual problems, instead they took that time to create more content.  Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense to me.  If you people actually believe Mythic is doing a great job, and that WAR is fine, that's great.  Just know that I've been playing since the CE beta, and have been subbed since release.  I just recently canceled because LOTD is a garbage IMO, and I'm through waiting for Mythic to fix anything.

Yeah, this video shows how you can do what you just describe above in LOTD with a few Order people and traps. This tiny group of Order players (like yourself) is just having fun killing Destro by triggering traps.

They just kept killing all the Destro by triggering the traps as they ran inside. This video shows one problem with LOTD.

Things like this aren't really that impressive, and why people quit Warhammer in the first place.

    Must be a sinking ship.

Actually there are at least 4 servers with decent and I will say, growing populations. Forums like these breed lies, and trolls. The game is great, and keeps improving a bit slow at time, but it is improving, people just need patience. I have no issues playing on Dark Crag, and Iron Rock, Praag, and Pheonix Throne is doign well as it stands too. People need to leave well enough alone, if you are nto paying activily for a game you have no clue, if you have never played, you ahve no clue, and if you are not paying for it activly you have no say, as you are not putting money into development. Move on and troll yourself, leave games along that you do not play. It is quite simple, say you do not like it, state why, and move on.

Not quite sure I see any evidence of 'having a clue" from those who still play either.

Not everyone who posts their dissatisfaction with the game is a clueless troll, just means the game doesn't meet their expectations.

I find population complaints funny.  When the game started I made sure I was on a full server and I had a great time.  I just re-subbed, made sure I was on a full server and I'm having a great time.  it's not really rocket science.

Granted I do think mythic messed up by having too many servers in the beginning, and having one side look so much cooler leading to balance issue.

But I still think it's a good game.  And the server I'm on now is rock'n, which is Iron Rock by the way.

  • jjjk29jjjk29 Member Posts: 295

Woah now... Whoever threw out GW's name needs to take it back and go read up.  GW doesnt make these games they sign-out the contracts for people to make these games.  They are making 100% profit and can careless if the game fails.

In my op, GW should keep their contracts with THQ open because the THQ studios are doing awesome jobs with the Warhammer 40k universe (Relic/Space Marine, DoW 1&20).  And yes even DoW2 was a good game.

I really don’t agree wit anyone saying things are “fine” w/ the game.

My sub is still active, but I stopped playing about a week ago. It ends in a week thankfully.

I play on Iron Rock, and those claiming that the server is “rocking” … IDK… when are you playing? I’d play EST primetime. I’ve seen a HUGE HUGE drop off in activity from previous game sessions. I’ve experienced the same problem most of my guild has in LotD’s PvE-fest. In made more of a separation then bringing conflict. And those that DO stay out of LotD when their realm have it won, are outnumbered 10 to 1 in the RvR lakes now. It’s no fun.

Personally, I had always thought that WAR’s PvE was subpar at BEST, but that wasn’t what I enjoyed. I enjoyed all the constant back-n-forth struggle in the RvR zones. But that gradually got less and less. For the past 3 months, people on Iron Rock rarely even attempt forts (other then after LotD, where the losing realm takes them b/c the winners are PvEing in LotD) it was just Scen pop after scen pop. I stuck with it though, in the hopes that LotD was going to be the savior. It wasn’t. It failed me personally.

I’m not even interested in Aion, or CO, or much of anything w/ a date. I’m just going to not play an MMO. B/c not paying to not RvR just makes more sense to me.

Well first of all I'm talking tiers 1 – 3. I just came back after not playing for many months. So I don't know how Iron Rock was weeks or months ago, but on t1 – t3 there is plenty of RvR and Scenarios. I just started 2 new chars and the lower tiers are good times.

And I don't even know what LotD is.  They added a new area?  Ha ha, that's too funny.  That's just what the game didn't need.

Yeah, me too. I play on Karak Norn EU and although for the first 3-4 days everybody seemed to take a vacation to the south things came back to normal pretty fast. Lotsa killing to be had in T4 zones and there's always someone shouting for reinforcements somewhere.

Tho I was a bit skeptical about lotd at first I admit that it did not manage to kill the orvr. I still stand by my opinion that it would have been much better as a regular and always open rvr zone but with PQs and PvE stuff mixed in (what's sorely missing in existing RvR lakes).  However, it's not that bad even like this - a vacation from the relentless T4 war.

Just 2 servers.... man it's worse than I thought.

Cut the crap, dude.  I started on Dark Crag back in December with my friend and watched it go from low-med to high pop due to xp bonus.  Dark Crag was packed back in mid spring but it is past its peak where you had to wait to log in during prime time.

Mythic has been pissing off players who like the game, saw its great potential and stuck through the nonstop problems & lies.  Players are slowly leaving.  Dark Crag, Ironrock, Praag & Phoenix Throne are the only servers really left.  You can't enjoy WAR on the rest of them, they might as well shut them down.

Most of the complaints are by players who actually like Warhammer but are just pissed off by its problems, which Mythic just refuses to fix.  The Land of the Dead was just a slap in the face.
