Well with Liquid Cool you get the best cooling in the business but you have to know how to maintain. On the other hand with fans it is way easier to install and to maintain em you just clean them with air pressure clan, a cloth, and the occasional vacuum.

Also fans are less expensive. Liquid Cooling also is good if you want to overclock. I never overclock any of my components however as I like them to last as long as possible. I would say do plenty of research before you make your decision.

ok, the main reson I ask is because i'm buying a comp from ibuypower.com and I can add liquid cooled for like $100.00

So if i'm getting better proformence it might be worth it, what type of maitnence are we talking?

    Pros:

It can keep your hardware at lower temperatures allowing for overclocking to higher speeds.

    Little if any noise.

    Cons:

It costs an arm and a leg.

It is so quiet that if it shuts down whilst your comp is operating you may not know resulting in your CPU turning into a crispy critter.

    Maintanence.

    Leakage resulting in blown parts.

    Conclusion:

Unless you've got a seperate rig that you use for overclocking and have lots of spare cash there is little point. Why risk destroying my comp so I can get those extra MHZ or keep it cooler by those extra degrees? Many people I know get very paranoid when using their comps on water cooling. Due to the lack of noise they have to keep checking the water cooling hasn't broken and refuse to leave the room with the comp still turned on incase it all goes tits up!

EDIT: maintence is getting the right type of water to put into the system, then cleaning it when needed and looking for leaks and so forth. I wouldn't get water cooling myself no matter how cheap, I want to play my comp not be pissing my pants with worry everytime it's too quiet or I smell some moisture in the air and wonder if it's rain or my CPU about to fry!

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

You do realize that they sell pre-frabricated cooling parts right? Don't have to worry about leaks with those.

Comes ready to use out of the box  :)

As far as getting liquid cooling for a system you're not going to overclock the snot out of....it's pointless.
