I only been playing a few hours this weekend and i have yet to see why the OP said it's a grind, i been doing quest and lvl to 10 realy fast and easy so is there some grind alter on >?<

Aion might be WoW with wings, but WAR is WoW stripped of polish and a bunch of bandages covering it. Tell me, how many times have you tried to hop a fence, or a short rock in WAR, only to get stuck on it? How many times have you WALKED down a hill and lost more than half your HP? How many times have you sat at a door spamming abilities on it? How many times have you killed the same NPCs and waited at a flag? How many times have you killed a keep lord, that had a totally different name, totally different skin, but was the same lord as every keep?
I just assume you still play WAR because it's in your sig. Aion is definitely nothing amazing, but from what I've played it ran MUCH better than WAR. I couldn't get stuck on a rock if I tried all day. Haven't lost half my HP to walking down a hill, that was made to be walked down. I haven't gotten into the Abyss, but I haven't been hearing much about smacking doors all day. As long as the PvP is nothing like WAR's idea of PvP, and the game runs fine, I will try it till endgame.

It's not that your opinion is wrong, I just find it weird that you prefer a broken game. I've been subbed to WAR since release until this month. That means I was fully supportive of Mythic and their game. I gave them more than enough time to prove they were as good as I thought they were. I've been waiting and waiting for them to fix the most basic problems of the game, yet they still haven't been fixed. Instead they use quick fixes instead of true ones, and release content in hopes that people will forget the bugs, etc.
Sorry. I am just pissed at Mythic. I had faith in them, and saw the potential in WAR. I see Aion for what it is, the same as the rest, only it actually feels good. Who knows? I could be here in 9 months bitching about how all we do is bash on doors, but so far the game feels really smooth. I haven't tried any real PvP yet, so I can't judge how boring the game is yet. All MMOs are boring to me without knowing what the PvP is like. They're all the same, pick up quests, kill mobs, repeat... boring. That's the one thing Mythic got right, too bad the rest of the game is ass.

WoW is just a game...Aion is just a game...most or all RPG's are a grind...therefore MMORPG's won't be any different. Anything that allows for massive amounts of people to gather in one place on the internet is considered an mmo....therefore WoW has been killed already. THE END!

I really wanted WAR to be the game for me. I am (was?) a Mythic fanboy. I loved DAoC, even with its faults (ToA anyone?) and I looked forward to WAR like no other game I have ever waited for. I got into closed beta, even before keeps were in, and I told myself all the faults I saw were because of the beta. Clunky engine? "Its beta, they will fix it!". Slow combat? "Its beta, they will speed it up!". Every fault I saw I closed my eyes to and when it came out, I finally realized that it wasn't going to get better, at least not for a looong time.
Aion wasn't even on the list for me, I had no desire to play it. I hate Anime and that whole art style so I disregarded Aion entirely. After WAR lost its luster (and it took awhile, I have 3 40s!), I started looking around for another MMO, because I just couldn't go back to WoW. After reading a bit on how great Aion was, I downloaded the Chinese version and started playing.
It didn't take me too long to realize that Aion, not WAR, is the real successor to DAoC. That just amazes me. I hate the artstyle but the game is so fun and after awhile the art even grew on me. Its everything I hoped WAR would be, but without all the bugs WAR has and the horrible engine.
Mythic has been out-Mythic'd this time and I am still dumbfounded on how that happened.
He leveled 6 because end-game WAR is sooo bad, you can't continue to play at level cap and have to start another character. It hurts me to say it, because I soooo wanted WAR to be THE game, but its true.
Watched a friend play end game Aion on the Korean servers the other day and its the polar opposite of WAR. Fast, frenetic, runs smooth and looks like a whole lot of fun. Can not wait for NA release.

This weekend was the first time I played the beta.
After playing WoW for so many years, I found Aion refreshing and most important: fun!
It kept me going for almost 12 hours straight, enough said I think.
Ofcourse, it's all in personal taste
