I recently built a new computer, and it is fast as hell. I went from a single to AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 Black Edition, 2 u to 8 gigs of ram, and a g7 card to a Radeon 4890. So I downloaded vg cranked up the settings to almost te highest and began to ply. Alot of people go on to tell about there expirience down to every last detail when starting a game, but I'm going to sum itup fairly quick...
Character creation is well done and there are alot of classes and races to choose from...I enjoy creatiing my toons so I had fun.
Entering the game I found it to be a litle laggy right off but smootheds out quite a bit. And it ended up running quite well.
Quests were fairly standad new player quests. "Talk to -----------, Kill 5 ---------, Colledt 5 -------, or kill a certain boss and get my ---------." I usually enjoy doing these quests otherwise i would not play mmorpgs. So I thought the quests were well done: Simple to do yet well written.
The community as a whole has been helpful.
Crafting is well done with alot of options.
There are quite a few bugs, and they are a bit annoying, but I'm a fairly patient guy and have played mmorpg games for 10ish years so I am fairly used to bugs and glitches.
It reminds me of daoc 7ish years ago and daoc was the best class based game I've ever played.
My biggest problem is the lack of players. When I reach my max level in games I ussually do 3 things trade and sell, pvp, and go out on short pve raids, and basically be social while i do all three. I don't know if I have any desire to level a toon to 55 if there is no real comerce, no pvp, and not many random pick up groups at max level. It makes xping get boring when there is nothing to really look forward to.
So thoughts on if I should Subscribe or not?
p.s. I also like games like the elder scrolls butt play for a few weeks, then get bored and quit for a couple months and then go back and pick up where i left off.

Yeah it's a pretty buggy game, but I like the environment , skills are nicely made - not too many superhypermega effects, many characters.
Wondering the same thing - do people still play it? Is everyone on max level, or are there enough players in the beginning also?
Personally i'd like to know about the Europe server. Appreciate a reply!
What's it all for? Does anything really matter?
the game is populated, but not immensely. There is no pvp, so the only thing to do is level, gear, craft, and diplomacy grind. There are decent groups at max level and the global chat helps facilitate it pretty well. I'm actually thinking about resubscribing again too, I've always found the game "good" but population in the mid levels (30-45ish) has been tough on my playing.
If you have already done the trial, well then you should have an idea of the game now. Just note that levelling is pretty easy off the trial island, but groups beyond about 25ish start to get sparse until the 40's. The 30's are pretty much solo-fest... although there are plenty of places to go get solo quests to gain your levels at that time.
