Is Mortal Online really worth $5,100?

That's right. Someone paid $5,100 dollars for the 1st edition of an online game that isn't even out yet. If that was a beta player, it's a really good sign.

I think this has been covered before, but I believe the price can be explained by the following bullet point from the auction:

"100% of the final bid is donated to Doctors Without Borders"

But even  for a charity, that's a LOT to pay for a video game. Kinda impressive.

Yeah the winner can basically write off like $5k on his/her taxes as a charitable contribution.

Agreed. Whether it turns out to be a good game or not, it''s pretty cool they could raise a decent amount for charity.
