just got the game and have some questions

Is their pvp on the normal server's like WAR or no?

Is it true the pvp servers are just gank Orama?

any sugestions for a good populated server to have fun on?

Non PvP servers still have PvP via sieges and battleground type scenarios ala WoW or WAR (The queued ones).  PvP servers are setup where anyone can kill anyone at any time.  There is some ganking, but there is a murder system in place as a penalty for ganking low levels.  The PvP is more fun and the world more dangerous than anything in WAR or WoW, but the death penalty is weaksauce.

so if you are mostly interested in like Guild vs guild stuff PvE still works for that?

or am I mistaken?

Yup, there is PvP on PvE servers....minigames, seiges, and a few open pvp areas you can travel to.

 

There is a lot of ganking on the PvP servers, but once u find a guild it gets much more fun.

 

Tyranny is a great pvp server, and Set is THE pve server.
