Good luck one and all! I have decided to pull the plug on MMORPG.COM and my interest on DFO in general. I will be devoting my time to the dedicated MO forums as of now.
I wish fan and critic alike the best of luck, good health, and happy ganking...press on! I shall continue my merry ways wherever a keg and a brawl is present, in this case MO!

Have fun in MO, Seytan. *wave*
Please keep us updated on all your future endeavors.
Game Hoppers exist because they are trying to find the right MMORPG for them. Don't hate on them because you've finally found yours. Perhaps they just haven't found a good MMORPG to settle into? I agree there is a lot of game hopping going on. But that's not the peoples fault, it's because of an over saturated market filled with tons of F2P and P2P MMORPGs.
Besides, I think it's going to finally come to a point where people don't play MMORPG's for years anymore. We all know MMORPGs can't be beat, and some people like to go try the new latest game. Just like a single player game that can actually be beaten and you want to go get a new one.
I think just about everyone will be moving to MO.
Lets see how the NA server and new patch do b4 making any rash conclusuions.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.
Playing EVE Online and AOC.
Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD
I can tell you exactly how it will go. You will play MO to death for 3-5 months, whine about it on the forums like a little kid without his pacifier, then jump on to a new game that will be released after that time and tell everyone how its the best thing since sliced bread. You wiil then play that for 3-5 move on to another game "that is best game ewaa" rinse and repeat.
seen people like you before and I call them "game hoppers", vocal minority is another one
Everyone has "gamehopped b4" whether you played console games or mmorpg's. Whats your point?

As a note, the OP made a classy goodbye - he went out of their way not to offend anyone. Real props to him for a job well done.
Yet..... notice that two of the five "MMORPG.COM DF fan club members" ( there are five posters that fall into this category, it's not hard to figure out who they are ) just had to take a nasty pot shot at the OP. Classless and immature, to say the least.
For those of you looking to try the game....consider those fan's responses, and they'll be the type of players that you would be rubbing shoulders with in-game.
Makes one consider playing MO instead, when you consider that point....
pointless. just like op's post, not really needed, not really information no one needed to know. this is troll country.
Who is trolling here? Some guys are giving their opinion about the thread and you are just trying to flamebait others.
Where are the informations in "no...don't..." ?
Farewell Seytan mostly had a good read from your critical posts.

Read between the lines man, the information in "no..don't.." is clearly printed in your quote.
lol, don't worry DF players, MO is sour grapes
Is it one of those links that gives you points for referring? If so, it's against the rules.
Actually there is no such thing as a classy goodbye, if you are going to leave it is just better to fade away and leave them wondering.
Goodbye's like the OP's are strictly for drama and unnecessary, since we don't really care.
As for MO, might be a great game, but right now its just a hope and a dream and has far more parallels to DF than dissimilarities.

Even tho he indeed try hard not offend Darkfallls fans still he feel the need to post on Darkfall forum he leaving Darkfall for MO lol, why?
Well ill tell you why, he to try stab them in back saying he leaves Darkfall for MO lol there is no need for that you eather play other game or not its silly make a topic announce you leave to MO who also is same catagory mmo, reason doing this hoping influence others to leave Darkfall to thats only reason he did this in away its offensive and childish.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
In all MMO's there have always been goodby threads and it's always nice threads people say have fun or hope you find another MMO ect. but as soon as someone post a goodby thread in DF forums he gets flamed, kicked, namecalled ect, it's truly pathetic guys.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.
Par for the course I'm afraid.
Bye Seytan good luck!

Agreed, it seems alot of DF fans have become bitter with the suprisingly fast decline of their numbers. And anyone who leaves their ranks automatically becomes the "enemy" or a "troll", no matter how sincere their good-bye.

This again goes back to the core of the problems. These remaining DF gamers are so narrow minded, so insecure, so sentimental, so immature, so ... use your own label. They are the ones left behind in the empty world, the classy players are off.
Now what kind of game experience will you derived from DFo? Be one of them or move on.
A goodbye thread is just a goodbye. When I move to another town, I drop by the neighbors and say farewell, go to the grocery, and buy some snacks as I drove out of the little town for good. That is just handshake and goodbye. In a game, you cannot come to my house and say goodbye, so a thread here and there, neutral and nice worded, will serve the purpose. I will usually tell my neighbor where I am moving to, broadly speaking, and by courtesy they would also ask. Good neighbors and friends will get my new address, so they can call me in case a parcel arrives or something. The OP tells us he is going to MO. Maybe old friends in DFo will eventually meet him in MO, pm him here for contacts in new games and so on. Very normal and nice way to keep in touch.
When I left EQ for DAoC, I send a mail to all good friends there, tell them my server and character name. Some actually come to join me in DAoC, and joined my guild, months later. So you won't know.
Best of luck to Mr OP. Hope MO is better experience and more fun, eventually.

Normally when a person says goodbye, they are leaving a game. The original poster never played DFO by his own admission, has been posting negative comments about DFO since January, yielding 44 pages and over 500 posts raging against DFO. It's sad you would criticize the DFO community under the circumstances and pretty hypocritical considering any one that even asks a simple question on the MO board is called out by you if they favor another MMO pvp game.
Utterly rediculous trolling on this board that is really disrespectful of the host site.

Oh serious, you need to read before you bark.
The OP said he is pulling the PLUG ON MMORPG, and dropping his interesting in DFo. He never said he played DFo. That is his goodbye thread. Understand? "Normally when a person says goodbye they are leaving a game." How stupid can you be, what logic is that, goodbye = game? He is saying goodbye to MMORPG. Can you read that?
As for my criticism of the DF community, you already proved the point. You rampaged and criticised without even reading. To repeat, he is saying goodbye to MMORPG. He is dropping his interest in DFo and looking forward to MO. Nothing you said are relevant, and you confirmed my disappointment with the quality of DFo gamer, I presume you are one.
Re-read my reply and if you still have issues, we have to agree to disagree. If a member of MMORPG.COM wants to say goodbye to MMORPG.COM, the proper place to do that is on a non-game related discussion board for MMORPG.COM. If one decides to make that goodbye message on a specific game forum they have spent 7 months lambasting, please don't act so shocked if the red carpet and roses thrown wishing the best have thorns in them.

This has gone way off topic, so I'm closing it now.
