Just got a 360 because I really want to play video games while sitting on my couch instead of my PC, haha. I'm trying to find a good MMO for it, but all I have found is FFXI. I played FFXI for a few months on PC and thought it sucked. Too group based and boring. Has it maybe gotten better? Or are there any other MMOs available right now that are worth playing?

well Age of Conan was suppose to be coming out for the 360 ( and in my opinion it would drastically increase its population). But theres also star ocean or whatever the hell its called. Theres also the new final fantasy mmo that comes out next year
Phantasy Star Universe and FFXI are the only ones for the Xbox 360 and the downfall is that you have to pay for Xbox live and the subscription fee. Champions Online is upposed to be out for the Xbox 360 but no official date has been set.
There is only FFXI and Phantasy Star Universe on 360 so far
Maybe we gonna get Lord of the Rings (but im not sure about that) and possible FFXIV. Thats it. Looks like mmo developers dont like x360 and ps3.

Not to my knowledge, only FFXI now. I guess CO is supposed to be a 360 titles. Huxley is supposed to be coming to it too (I believe the plan is still in tact. While the PC version is free from ijji.com I believe they said the 360 one would of course not be free but include a full campaign mode and probably split screen multiplayer).
Turbine also has been talking about and contemplating a 360 MMO. When I heard this I pulled out my 360 controller and plugged it into my computer and went to the control set-up screen. It works awesome with a 360 remote, that's without them inplementing analog detection (like using the right joystick as the mouse, clicking it down would click the mouse. Clicking the left stick could click the left mouse clicker). If you really wanted to try it out, I believe Pinnacle lets you do stuff like that.
Man... I really need to buy myself a 360 already.

when i went to gamestop.com, i cant find phantasy star universe for 360, however, i do see it on gamespot.com on the list of games. weird. was it maybe discontinued? did it suck?
The problem with consoles, the controller sucks. If you have any kind of a pvp situation, the mouse keyboard combo will usually own the controller owner. Most companies producing for consoles don't want to restrict them to a mouse/keyboard control because less than 5% of the consoles out there have them. Why limit your market. So the only solution is to dumb the UI down enough so the mouse/keyboard is less of an advantage. That does not sell well.
Not always the case... PSU works very well with a controller, its always kinda been that way. Due to NDA business thats all I can say right now.
Pretty much what they did with CO
the controls are so dumbed down you feel like you are playing your 8 year olds computer game.
I miss you "True Fantasy Live Online". So wanted that game to happen.. but as you know it never did.
on the team Xbox page, this topic has been discussed many times. Some folks claim that the Xbox360 couldn't handle it, others said the controller is not good enough and some others claim the market for mmorpg's on consoles is just not there.
I say they all wrong and a mmorpg customized to a console would do good. I think the main problem is that most mmorpg's get developed with the pc in mind because there is an established market. Most MMO's are so expensiv to make that there are no ressources left to develope it for a console at the same time.
PvE MMO's are great for consoles. I strongly suggest trying FF14 when it comes to Xbox (one day). I don't suggest trying FF11 though.
Well, here's the list of choices:
Phantasy Star Universe... it has an active immature colony with lots of RMT.
Final Fantasy XI... it's active with a lot of players and in the past year it has become a heck of a lot easier to level up in. The story is expansive and keeps growing each month. And to top things off your account is usable on the Xbox 360, PC and PS2/3. The only drawback is the graphics are slightly outdated.
Phantasy Star Online... maybe? I don't know if it's backwards compatible or if the servers are still active, but if they are and you can find a copy... lucky you!
Yet to come...
Huxley... a massive MMOFPS along the lines of a really awesome 100 man Team Deathmatch.
Age of Conan... if that is still alive at FunCom.
And yeah... that's the end of the list for now on the Xbox 360. The PS3 has a few games in the clockwork.
MAG... another MMOFPS with 128+ squadbased firefighters. I'm not sure what the player count is, but it's a high enough number to be considered an MMO.
Final Fantasy XIV... and don't expect it to come to the Xbox 360 any time soon. Last I heard Microsoft was "in talks" with Square-Enix for this title. This one will be coming out on the PC and PS3 at the same time worldwide next year (projected for Q2).
DC Universe... a more action based MMO in the same vein as the Spider-Man open world sandbox games, except it's online. Coming to the PC... eventually, whenever its actually released.
The Agency... a spy MMOFPS. You team up with other players and work your way through missions. This one is also on the PC.
Let it be known that I hate WoW with a passion and will defend almost any MMORPG against it.
