Why I'm playing this game!

''The smugger starts out on Ord Mantel in the demo.

The Smuggler is capable of using cover. How this works is that when you walk up to certain objects like corners, trees, boxes, and so on a little green silhouette will appear. You click on this silhouette and he will take the position, hiding by either crouching or standing depending and firing at his opponent. This system was pretty fluid in the alpha version we watched.

Not much else was particularly said about this class till the end when melee moves were confirmed. The Smuggler ran up to a weakened thug, and then magic happened: he kicked him square in the groin, then shot him in the head to finish him. Yep, you read that correctly.''

Sounds pretty cool indeed.. Just hope it's not the ONLY reason you'll be playing this game..

I hope they'll post more info on the class looking like the storm trooper (macedonians ?).. My only fear about this game is to see 3/4 of the game population going jedi/sith.. Might unbalance the game. But I'm pretty sure they won't be too much overpowered,

I trust Bioware will come up with a pretty good game.

You bring up an interesting point.  Though the jedi and sith will be the premiere characters of TOR, there are going to be some awesome classes.  I am really interested in the mandos and smugglers myself.  Maybe it won't be nothing but jedi and sith running around after all.  I am glad they are taking time to develope these classes right.

Well personally I'd like to kick a jedi in the groin.... thats something you don't see very often.

    I approve of this plan.

It also brings to mind a certain question I've always wondered; are Jedi allowed to swear?

Hell, what even counts as a swear in the Star Wars universe? Will a Jedi complain about being kicked in the ewoks?

I really need to find a glossary/vocabulary or something before the game releases, 'cos I'm going to roll on an RP server (as I always do) and I wouldn't wanna confuse my kashyykian rhyming slang.

I'm playing because this game won't try to tailor to hardcores. Nope, their focus is fun.

Or so they say. We still have to see how it'll pan out, of course, and Bioware will have to deliver at launch... then deliver post-launch: adding content, patching, keeping servers stable, class balance, etc., etc.

I am going to be playing this game because I am a huge star wars fan, also they are trying a lot of new things that we have not seen in the MMO market which interests me, its always good to think outside of the box like with Eve online... It does not always work but you never know until you try.

    I await more information ^^

There is a reason people from your past did not make it to your future.

I love alot of what I hear about this game so far and will play it. However, it worries me that they say "they will not cater to the hardcore audience" etc. Sure, many of us including me appreciate a brilliant star wars story. This will ease the levelling and guide new subs into the game. But I worry there might be too much focus on the levelling. As every critic on these forums has probably said it will be the success of the game after 6months, a year 2 years+ which determines it's overall and ultimate success. I just hope the Bioware devs can give us a real, entertaining, fun and purposeful reason to remain playing (besides just insatiable love of star wars) and default pvp - which is fun and probably enough to keep me subbed, but I'd like this game to have at least a mediocre population at worst.

I  practically know that most of the people will play as Sith / Jedi, or atleast start as ones. The classes will balance later (I mean by numbers, not by which is the best class)...

And like someone before said, I hope there will be Mandalorian's. I also hope that you can follow your own path when playing as Jedi, not the strict rules of the Council nor the Sith.

We'll see, I have trust in BioWare.
