If you are hardcore negative, you can zero in on the fact that he never says the images are from 2009. He only says he used the wrong plate to tag them. I will just take it in good faith that he means are are new images created this year.

Take it in good faith from Khestral? It took him over a month to get those pics from unused HDs in the office and he just wasn't thinking when he posted them. The UI is from the Beta in 2008, they are all old pics and he's trying to pull a fast one yet again, not being negative just honest.

Its a pretty stupid mistake for Director of Quality Assurance.
just khestral doing the CYA dance after being caught trying to pull a fast one.
Agreed. I remember that UI from the beta (pre-alpha would have been more accurate). Either the screens are true, meaning NO progress has been made at all, or the screens are false and Khestral is a shitfaced liar. I believe I'll go with the latter.
Interesting. If any of you has an account on the official site, it would be interesting to see him pressed for a direct statement.

I had an account ha ha ha ha ha
I want to see Jack O'Neil holding up an image of today's newspaper! :-D
He could crank open the chat ui and mention some of today's headlines.
Seriously, not sure why he bothers to pump out those shots with nobody left at CME working. Maybe he likes the uber god-like power of stringing his forum fans along?
Now that one gave me a good chuckle
How about Richard Dean Anderson and Christopher Judge touring round the CME offices with everyone working there and milling about creating the game. They can play the new version that's being polished but before speaking to a DEV they all state that "Michael Jackson is dead" before proceeding to prove it's all recent? They can walk about chatting about recent news events in between talking to DEVs polishing Stargate Battl.... erm I mean Worlds!
Personally the best you're gonna get is "Steve Irwin was killed by a Stingray yesterday" in my opinion!

Ya my personal thing is... I have seen a few beta's shut down for a few months. All were from companies that had multiple products live and a LOT of financial backing.
I was in SGW beta and I can't even remember how long ago it was shut down... but its been more than "a few months". I honestly would say that I don't buy the statement simply due to the amount of financing you would have to have...
I mean I'm probably wrong here somehow but... its my perspective.

I disagree, you're probably right! Beta closed down November last year after one month or so, they said it would start again early this year but it hasn't. They have no money to do it, nor the staff to maintain it, and the game is probably in a worse state now than last year.
So it seems they've decided to make an FPS out of the salvagable stuff from the remenants of the SGW train crash, but have mostly interns working on it. Even if they could make Stargate Battles I think CME will be going tits up officialy before it could get anywhere near launch. Even if it did launch CME has such a nasty rep that I don't see many gamers rushing to play before the inevitable "This makes Counterstrike look like Halo 3 with free hookers and beer!" reviews.

Well, it is likely true the game will fail--and probably soon. I find it interesting how many people seem to look forward to the failure. Instead of talking about how they could correct the problems and have a success.....the discussion is always about failure.
The focus on how the failure will happen seems to go beyond a Whiting dislike. Is anyone excited and positive about any other games coming out?
I've decided that if the game did release, and if there were any whiff of an MLM connected to it, I would not buy it.
Of course, at this point, the quality of any released game out of this situation is suspect at best. But even so, and even without an MLM, it's hard to convince myself to reward Whiting with cash in any case. While I feel bad for other investors and the employees, it seems to me that I wouldn't trust him to compensate all the others fairly anyways.
As for other games, SW:TOR is what I'm watching. If they can pull it off (big IF), it looks like it will be something quite new and different.
I would LOVE a stargate MMO, but the only way for success is for a different company to produce it. its beyond fixable in CMEs hands.
I'm looking forward to Earthrise.

I have nothing but good stuff to say about Fallen Earth...even though it's not really a genre I'm crazy about.... If it had been Icarus making SGW instead of CME....I'd probably be a fan Ori myself. Believe me, I WANT to see a SGW game come out....I just don't want to see one being produced by a company who's senior management should be facing prosecution.
I want it to fail so long as CME makes it. I don't want their lies and schemes to be rewarded with any profits. Period. And my desire does go beyond Whiting to whoever tkksnow is. Too many times I was lied to on that forum and abused by people who refused to hear the truth.

Hey Orthotdh, welcome back buddy. Any update on the Gary Whiting ousting you mentioned? You've failed to answer questions about the timeframe, etc. in the other thread. Instead of trying to plant happy future MMO feelings, how about you update us on what's really going on.
you asked about "Instead of talking about how they could correct the problems and have a success". My take is that Gary Whiting, Tim Jensen, Rod N., and even Dan Elggering had plenty of opportunities to correct their problems. However, they kept making bad decision after decision -- right down to the first time they were running out of money. What did they do? They spent all that money in Leipzig. Still, they know the well is running dry, they don't cut their cash draining companies (mass illusions, hand cranked and even superstition studios). I'm guessing just those two mistakes cost 6 months of development dollars.
And for the hell of it, why not consider how when they are out of money, they make an investment in that racing team in february 2009. That was when the borrowed money from Nedra and they thought MMOGULS was going to save the company? Oh, another brainchild decision.
Bottom line, too many people out to make a quick buck were left in charge, and nobody did anything about it.
I'm getting the feeling you are not an investor, but a impostor – a bipolar impostor. One moment you want Gary castrated and the next you want everyone singing “kumbaya” around a campfire.

Hello. I never left. I don't think that I am bipolar. My feelings have not changed. I have lost more money than one very vocal poster on here. He talks like the end of the world has happened--no, just a bad investment. The sun will rise tomorrow. You read as if you might be an investor too. I can't add a lot as I don't know that much. (I'm a small fish.) The truth is often a hard thing to find. The context in which decisions are made in life is even harder to find.
I've lost some money, but life will go on....one requirement for the original investment is that you are a qualified investor and can afford to loose the money. Many people here seem more angry than I am. It seems clear that many poor decisions have been made by 'management.'
I know that there is a process taking place by many investors trying to correct some problems; this is all I have to say. I enjoy reading the comments. The power of free information and community is amazing. I love it. The insights here have been very helpful.
