Hi, i'm lloking for a game in which the game is more centered around the economy, i.e how much money you have and a lot about having trading skills. Also should inculde a range of crafting skills to chose from, PvE and PvP are both welcome to any extent either way. Graphics not too important, as long as its 3d and playable, infact even 2d wouldnt be that bad.
I've tried EvE online, nice game but tooooo time consuming...any other games you guys know of?
Thanks in advance!

There's a game in development right now called Dawn World. The website is at www.dawn-world.com and from what you described it could be great for you and others like you. This game will include other aspects of MMO games as well. It's due for open beta in the next couple of months, I hope this is of some help to you
You might want to look into EVE.
Well, you can make some money like that on games that either have an "Auction House" like LOTRO, WoW, Aion, etc.
Or those with player shops like *insert asian MMO here*.
But I believe the only one with such an evolved economy would be EVE, it's not really time consuming after you know what you want to focus on doing in there you shouldn't have "too much time consuming" issues. But the sandbox nature of the game is surely overwhelming at a first glance.
Well I guess PotBS can be called a economy based game. You can be a trader in the game, so you may want to do the free trial and check it out.
i would try pirates of the burning sea
the economy is totally player driven and u can do a trader class
what i did was i had a pirate with skull duggery(stealth) and smuggling
but yea its lots of fun and the economy is amazing
Evony is economic rts in perpetual world. 2D graphics evonyforever.com
Saga mmorts is economic and pvp/pve/indifiual quest. You can even buy the special troops that cost real dollars with resources generateed in game via the marketplace. Card based game free to play. Don't have to buy cards, but can. Full activated account for 19.95 lets you join guilds, trade, other options. Graphics are good. Better than most. playsaga.com

Not trying to argue, but how is eve time consuming? Eve is probably the best game to play casually thats on the market atm. One can trade, produce, mine, etc with out much time at the keyboard required.
the game you're looking for is
http://luminary.ijji.com/center/default.asp
with a political/economy based game
Key features
1. Fun
- Unique weapons and magic skills provide exciting combat options.
- Upgrade your character with more than 20 different skills.
- Call on your summons to help you in battle.
- Raise horses and animals to ride.
- Enchant various items and make your own products to sell.
2. Real economic system
- Real-time trading of stocks, real estate, and other commodities.
- Start your own business with a hot product and earn lots of money.
- Market prices are set by players. The Luminary world is based on capitalism.
3. Political System
- Luminary guarantees a free and open democratic system.
- Users directly elect the head of the server, the GoonZu.
- A GoonZu’s term as elected leader is 60 days.
- Lords preside over the local village governments.
Luminary is very much like that but there are two version out there (at least in the US.) One by NDoors(The people Behind Atlantica) and Ijji the Ndoors one is a little Older IIRC and the IJJi one (at least when I played Cached on your HD differently) GOONZU or Luminary is a fun game but the Economy is Wild (at least on NDOORS Version)

How many days does your avg lvl 5 skill take to train?
how many days would it take me to get in a Iterion Mk V
how many days would it take me to train all the marketing skills that eve has to lvl 4
Sorry, I had to jump in here. I agree Eve is a good game, but the learning curve is rather high, and ths skill training is Time based, not a formula on how many times you swing ur axe, shoot ur gun, or forge a shield. the average lvl 4 skill takes a day or so to train, the average lvl 5 skill takes a week. and lets not talk about your capital skills Ouch!
you want an economy based Game. Vanguard. But it's basically dead. might also look into EQ2.
To Protect The Helpless From The Heartless
Sorry but what your looking for is RuneScape... the economy is great... take a look you'd like it.
How many of those are needed to accomplish the tasks they are intended for? For example, an Iteron V is nice to have but most mining/merchant characters can be in most any industrial ship within an hour (realtime, not just played) of creating the character.
- RPG Quiz - can you get all 25 right?
- FPS Quiz - how well do you know your shooters?
Very easy.
Entropia Universe
From all public sources, looks like Fallen Earth will have a strong economic base. As with every other game, an overwhelming percentage of players aren't going to be interested in building/crafting...since it's still in closed beta, then upon release you'd be on the same page as everyone else, rather than looking for a game where the economy has already died..
Did someone actually suggest Vanguard? A game with a hard cap on the amount of wealth you can have?
your thinking of SWG before the nge, send me a private message
I know, I played and loved and since the "updates" I need a game to fill its gap...

Mafia Wars!
EVE Online - hands down is one of the most intense economy based games you can play. OMG I was trading trit and in one moment I was making a killing buying it in one place and then selling in another system and then all of sudden the bottom just dropped right out from under me. I was like WTF...it lost 60% of it's value in this system in just a matter of a couple of hours. Had to find a new market for it and then I was lucky to make decent profit. The markets in EvE can be very dynamic and volatile.
PoTBS, not as complicated as EvE, and has some of the same features (Less linear in travel paths, which I found a plus). You can level all the way to max through econ, though I wouldn't recommend it. PvE, PvP, etc. It's great.
Currently restarting World of Warcraft
What you say is true to almost any game I have played with a player based economic system, supply and demand drives pricing of goods. I am not so sure it is exclusive to EVE, based on your above description, in fact, almost any game that has given players the ability to buy and sell from one another fits into this... But your not the first to talk about EVE, help me to know what sets it apart? I guess one might be that it appears as though it offers multiple markets from which to buy and sell, I like that!
