What are the surrounding areas around Qeynos like?

How is fighting solo with a mage?

Do the solo buffs spell really allow you to solo?

Once outside of Qeynos, what are the some of the zone names?

What is your system setup and how does the game run?

Is it hard gaining money in the game to upgrade spells and buy armor and weapons?

Is leveling speed similar to that of EQ1 or are things a big faster or slower in EQ2?

Will think of more soon. Thought I'd start off easy.

    OK thanks ::::02::

    Couple questions.

Can all fighter archtypes truely tank equally? have you seen a monk and a warrior both in action before , if so are they both equally capable of surviving hits and being the main tank or is the monk really only half capable of tanking and more to dps? Also what tactics/abilites does a monk use for staying alive and being the main tank aswell as a warrior/guardian.

Is downtime really fast? like 1-2 mins max for replenshing all hp/mp at all levels?

Do you know any of the skills monks get? if so could you tell us some of them? ::::09::

Thanks , i hope someone can sortve answer these hehe.

Qeynos is on the western part of an island... Antonica is the zone east of qeynos. Thundering steppes to the east of antonica.

soloing as mage is decent.. healer is easist at this point... groups are great for mages.. you dont pull aggro all that much and you get credit for missions just as easily as you do solo

there are zones that are kind of connected to qeynos.. there is a mariners bell at most cities .. one for zoning in qeynos to different zones.. one for traveling outside qey to many of the zones that allow you allow u to complete missions

you wont have to worry about venturing outside of qeynos and antonica for A LONG TIME.

I did not win the contest here for the EQII beta giveaway but can you believe this???  Right after I got off of this site and knowing I did not win a beta slot I was going to check my email and go to bed....well as I check my email one stood out as the headline "Welcome to the EQII beta"!  I was tickled pink!  Got accepted at the same exact time as I lost this contest.  Hehe I guess lady luck was on my side for once!

Honestly i dont even think i have ever even grouped with a monk let alone play one. because of this i cannot honestly answer most of you questions.  i can tell you that my best guess is that monks can tank probably as well as most by sheer virtue of thier purpose.

Hopefully someone in beta that plays a monk will field your questions.

Downtime would be a MAX minute i would guess.

I know that there are monk weapons sold in most stores... there is a great blacksmith in a zone initialed WW (zone in qeynos) i wont spoil completely :D

The key is to make sure your card supports direct x 9.0(c)

Your other spec is better than mine and the game runs beautifully on my system 2.0, 1gb 2700, ati 9500 pro

there are still some problems (lag, crashes)

But i would expect that to mostly be fixed by release.

Personally i think this game is fantastic.  There is much more to go, but the foundation is spectacular...and i will be buying it for sure.

NEVER FORGET Somepeople will Hate this game because its too simliar to EQ1 ... Some people will hate it because its not enough like EQ1 ... somepeople will love it because its like EQ1 some people will love it because its not like EQ1....

Can non-beta people see the beta forums now? Or are they still locked?

For computer questions.. here is my setup:

    athlon 2800+
    1gig ram
    9800 Pro

I can run the game fine on High Quality, slightly tweaked.

On Maximum Peformance, I've heard people with ~ 1ghz, 512mb ram, and ati 9200 can easily run this game on lowest settings, though anything slower than that will really be cutting it close.

The combat is "kind of" similar to FFXI. Doing one skill, then another, then another, can start a HO, which can give you a buff, do damage to a mob, do a group heal, etc.

Say quick attack > sneak attack > backstab gives the "backstab" user swindler's luck(buff, just an example).

If I do quick attack, then sneak attack on my hotbar will start to "blink". If I hit sneak attack, backstab will start to blink. When I use backstab it will trigger the HO, make a neat animation, and give me swindler's luck for ~3 minutes(just an example remember). You can keep using more skills after backstab, and the more and more you use, the better the "reward". Though personally I have never gotten past the 2nd "bubble(out of ~10). Howvever, doing an incorrect skill(anyone in the group), can end the HO.

You can do this solo, though posibilities are MUCH greater while grouping.

It does make PvE more fun, though at this stage people only use it when it is convienent. It's not like in FFXI where people start a party, and say you do attack A, you attack B, you attack C, etc. At this point people only hit the blinking light in more cases than not, and usually don't get past 1 or 2 "bubbles".

EDIT: Yes, I am in beta 9216544.

can fighter archtpye solo decently? So far is most of your equipment bought from npcs , or through quests , or from drops?

With a steady flow of exp in a full group how long do you think it would take to go from level 1-20 lets say you have an imaginary group that never logs off and the exp is always flowing how long would it take around?

Or how long do levels take in general? i hear questing for exp is actually faster then just grinding.

im playing a bard... almost to my second change to dirge.

I freaking love it.  I played quite a few other classes and this is what i happen to love.

You can try quite a few classes and you should be able to get an idea pretty quick if its gonna work for you or not.

All classes can solo pretty well, and fighter is probably the best. Grouping will be better for just about every class though.

The grind is a good bit longer than WoW's. This is good IMO, because everything else is different about the 2 games, why not the grind? ::::18::::::18::::::18::

I don't really know how long 'til 20 though, kind of a hard question to answer. Questing can be faster than just grinding, and the rewards are nice in most cases.
