Saw Images of EQII, fear not

in World of Warcraft

As WoW is described as too 'cartoonie' * I like to say disney =) * I saw modern Images of EQII and I just keep expecting Bob and Dot Matrix to appear and say 'REBOOT!' I am sorry they tried real hard to make it real and it looks REALLY fake.

NOT only the player models but the buildings also. I am serious. EQ1 impressed me more but maybe it's because I am a fan of old EQ..... But I'll take 'fantasia' over 'Medival Reboot' any day.

BTW they have the same basic UI as WoW does I mean almost pratically the exact same but you can put the game into 'widescreen' mode and they also have griffons like WoW.

EQ2 is too glaringly fake to me.

"Please if you can get the episode where Bob and Dot goes to a medival dungeon and take a look and compare. =)"

    I have too seen EQII images and am not impressed at all. I was impressed with EQ graphics as they were. Im starting to wonder if they shouldve kept the same graphics and upgraded them small by small like they did with expansions. They also should make the game more similiar to EQ. EQII looks worse than EQ, sadly, because EQ is one of my favorite games. i really hope that EQII can pop out some better graphics or they will lose their characters...

    I thought WoW fanbois were the first to coin the phrase: "You can't tell a game's graphics by it's screenshots."

    Trust me.. the characters in-game don't look like "plastic models". Whether you like the "realism" EQ2 is going for is up to you, but everything in-game in EQ2 looks exactly how it is supposed to.

    Well I mean it's not horrid and if that's is what people like that is cool. The game might be far better than the graphics.

     But I NEVER want to hear another 'cartoon' comment EVER or I will simply reply I will stick with my cartoon and you can stick with Reboot.

    Which is why I watched movies also and was hoping the screenshots was better. I am happy you are not disappointed with it. I am just rather happy based off SOLEY with graphics * I never played just saw screenshots and movies *

    I was thinking with Blizzard being so quiet with OB and SOE being so open and all the great info I was getting of jumping ship... but the style they got going is definitely NOT for me.

    Mind you your game could or is better but it's so um glaring that I will take my 'flawed' game as I cannot enjoy myself in that setting as is.

    I also do not denie I am a fanboi of WoW but I'd rather play with EQ1 gfx then EQ2s'.

    I'm in EQ2 beta, and sorry, they don't look plastic, they look like claymation.

    Now Tygris showed me an IMPRESSIVE Image and if that is how most of the EQ2 players can play comfortably at then Kudos that is pretty realistic tho I wish I could have seen his toons front...

    Anyway if that is how most can play I tip my hat.. that looked nice =)

    I'll stick with Disney still tho My system prob couldn't handle that; it barely could handle SWG with little lag. * In cities forget it chop city =/ *

    That's what I said (inside my head, as I never seem to actually 'laugh out loud' when I'm on my computer) when I saw his avatar.  That is THE best thing I have seen on this website. 

    As you may have read my posts before, I have talked about how EQ2's graphics are not even going to be better than WoW's, and maybe not even the other new games.  I'm happy to see all the annoying dolts who would go on about WoW's ugly graphics and how they sleep with pictures of their EQ2 finally shuv a sock down their own throats.

    EQ 2 looks mediocre, pure and simple. Everything looks like clay or stone, making the game appear very bleak and uninteresting.

    Have to agree everything looks so dark and drab in the EQ2 screens I've seen. It seems that they have a palette with grey tones and little else. WoW had a plethora of colors that dazzled your senses, and the world seemsed alive. Eq2 seems like a dead planet.

    True...

    The more EQ2 I see the more I think WOW will be the better game all around. All ive heard for months is the graphics are better and now I see screens taken on high end systems that look positively dull. I really am let down by the final result. I am having a hard time grasping why the specs are so high for such a graphically dull game.

    I prefer the vibrant colors of WOW and now I can honestly say the character models in EQ2 do not look any more "real" than WOW's. So far nobody has come out and said that the combat is unique or better than anything we have seen already. No praise for the quest system. This isnt doing much for their image. Maybe thats why they have waited so long to drop the NDA and are not going to have an open beta.

    They are obviously afraid of scaring away potential customers. Obviously with good reason.

    im sorry but this is just sad...

    okay, i am one of the, if not THE most unbiased oppinions you will EVER get in these forums, and i just have to say EQ2 graphics COMPLETELY outshine WoW graphics...

    honestly, i have watched practically every video and seen practically every screenshot from both games, and EQ2's graphics are FAR better then anything i've seen in WoW...

    remember, this isnt some raving EQ2 fanboy going off here, i personally hate both SoE and Blizz with a passion and IMO the debate between WoW and EQ2 is simply looking for the lesser of 2 evils... but to see these flaming WoW fanboys going off about how crappy EQ2's graphics are... its just sad...

    before i wrote this i went to www.gametrailers.com and watched every movie they had for both games (for like the 6th time in the past week) just to re-confirm my anger to you flaming fanboys...

    EQ2 graphics own WoW graphics in almost every way possible... if you think otherwise you either A. have only seen the low res shots that WoW fanboys LOVE to use in their comparisons, or B. are a COMPLETE RAVING FANBOY...

    seriously, stop being such noob ass blizzard fanboys...

    Wait, its possible to hate Blizzard?

    What horrible things have they done?

    I mean, seriously, most blizzard games still carry a 20 dollar shelf value after 4 years. They do awesome things. (btw, i'm not biased against SOE, i've never played one of their games.

    After playing the EQ2 beta for myself I have seen the game with my own eyes.

    EQ2 might be technically superior to WoW's graphics but they lack the artistic style and detail of WoW.

    In that sense, both graphic styles are good but WoW's is more artistic (I prefer them more).

    WoW just has some nice colors and it makes you feel like your sorounded by alot of things. Ive seen lots of screen shots and trailers it has alot of squares like character models and the bushes and trees are like bent squares like someone tried to smooth it out without having the ability.I dont want to feel like im playing a  war craft RTS game. I wish they made their graphics like starf craft ghost =P

    Im sry but I find EQ2 to be awesome in graphics. Most EQ2 pics have been in JPEG so they havent been too good of quality.
