i recently bought DF and started playing,at first i thought the game was horrible, all the mobs were camped to death.I got killed multiple times by other players.Unlike many i stuck with it and i am enjoying the game greatly.Don't judge this game by first impressions.Especially if you come from WOW or any simular game.
The chat system could use work though.I am still new but i have trouble communicating with other players.

Okay?I guess if you don't like it go back to hello kitty online. Its a totally free world which i enjoy.
You should have said you were comparing it to Hello Kitty online in your post, good to hear your enjoying the game.
I find DF to be slightly cuter then Hello Kitty Online. Certainly a friendlier game to the 9 year olds then Hello Kitty.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

you're not alone. everyone hates the chat system.
"Don't judge this game by first impressions"
So you are asking people to keep spending valuable leisure time playing something that is not fun, because it might get better at some unspecified later date if you just stick with it.
That is fully retarded. If something is not fun, then people will just stop doing it. Leisure activities are meant to be fun, not some type of endurance survivor challenge.
That the game does get better is purely your own opinion anyway. For a lot of players, it actually gets worse after a couple of weeks play time once the new game shine wears off.
Getting killed has nothing to do with why people leave this game. They leave because the game is crap, and for the majority of people this is evident within a couple of days of playing. They might persist for a couple of weeks simply because of the monetary outlay and trying to get some return for their dollar, but the extremely high turnover rate for new players in Darkfall clearly shows this game has some serious design issues.
We keep seeing posts from new players saying how much they love the game, then within 1-2 weeks we never hear from them again. In succesful games you do not have this phenomenon, games like EvE, DAOC, EQ, you always see people return posting after a few weeks / months giving their medium term opinions on the game. You just do not see that with Darkfall, indicating an extreme turnover rate, which is terrible news for a subscription based game, because every person who leaves tells all their friends and creates a negative flow on effect.
I see some of the fan crowd saying 'they haven't even advertised yet, wait till they do and we'll see a massive influx of new players". The problem is, the negative word of mouth regarding darkfall has spread far and wide from players who have already played and gone. Thanks to the internet, there is not this huge pool of naive people that will waste money on a game that has received such negative press. AV would have been better off going for the quick grab and snatch at release, at least that way they might have made a few million to allow the game to last a couple of years and fix all their problems, like AOC for example.
It would not be any different from their fraudulent behaviour regarding the NA server launch, which has already cost them untold thousands if not hundreds of thousands in lost revenue and potential customers through negative word of mouth.
The game sucks in the beginning. It is all about a horrible UI, unattending macroing your skills and trying to find a spot that isn't camped by a high level player so you can kill your 12 goblins. the first few weeks is a total exercise in futility. The UI is the worst of any game i've ever seen
The game sucks in the end. Everyone has hacks, most pvp is done naked and the only 'fun' part of the game is the petty drama created by clans on the forums.
