Well a game is Beta right up to the last  2 weeks when it Generaly goes Open beta, so to say its beta like that means something about a game and its not ready is pure rubbish, If a company offer a Pre order for a game and also offer beta access that means the game is close to being finished.
So if that game is nowhere near ready then the company are pretty much robbing people of their money making them believe its near completetion with the pre order.
Give it some thought before waffle..  If its not ready and not even close THEN money should Not be taken. I have read the site and even tho I did not buy the pre order it read to me at the time as it was near ready, if this it not true then its deception

    Read this thread: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/243599/PSA-to-the-buyers-THIS-is-what-you-will-get-starting-next-Monday.html

The devs never robbed anyone. They never lied about what people were going to get for now, not even once. They have been more than perfectly clear about it. People still bought, perfectly knowing that.

Unlike some scams that happened with past games, here there is no scam, there is no "robbing people". Everything was very clearly said, the devs warned block A beta would not be a walk in the park. If you still bought, it's only YOUR fault.

Can you post your source where they mention that the game is near completion? There is a detailed schedule of things to be tested in the beta go look it up, uninformed people are uninformed.

Edit: doesnt matter how much you thread it your opinion that this is going to fail is as good as anyone else saying this will be a success, I dont really understand why people think that repeating the same thing in 3, 4 and 5 posts in a row will make them right lol.

Speak for yourself. They sure as hell should take mine. Why? Read this thread: www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/244691/People-who-paid-for-this-in-advance-patrons-of-the-arts.html

Also: they have been VERY CLEAR about what the beta is about at this time.

Also: it is much to early to tell how this game will pan out in the coming months before launch we can only be hypothetical.

I didn't pay to preview a beta, I payed for the game (whenever it's launch might be), the awesome concept behind it and to help make it happen and I' m really happy with that :-)

The more strange it seems to be that you are so eager to support another game that will fail in the same way DarkFail did. Didn't you learn anything?

I'm not defending the game. I'm just saying it can not be a scam like you pretend, because unlike darkfall where the devs clearly lied about the content that wasn't in game even after release, here the devs didn't lie.

If people were dumb enough to buy thinking they would play a finished game in beta despite all the warnings, it's their problem.

If people were too blindly hyped up to see that this beta was not the kind of beta big companies have given us in the last four years, which is a soft release to hype up the game while excusing for bugs by slamming the "beta" word on it, then its their fault when I read about pre-purchase it was very clear to my they werent soft releasing but actually doing proper localized testing of features, this was one of the reasons I also decided not to purchase and wait for a while, since I dont really have time atm to spend testing the game and there are many preparations (website, comms, etc...) that need doing for my guild.

Edit: Like Korrigan just said there is a massive difference when dev A says " we def have this in game, buy the game it will be the best game ever"  and Dev B says: "we will try our best, some features might not be in because of server stress, feature A might end up this way or that way depending on how much we can implement in since we want feature B to be as solid as possible" there is a much bigger difference here and until they have deceived me or made something that will make me loose trust in them I genuinely believe they are being transparent even if half the core features were fully implemented and solid I would still bet on them to continue developing content over time.
