Another idea on the Future of Gaming. This can be used for more then just gaming though. Build an OS around this thing would be kinda sweet, but if your lazy like me, sitting in a chair would be nice lol.

It's a pretty cool concept for sure. I don't see it being installed in people's homes though, that thing is pretty big. I do see it being in local arcades and amusement parks in a few years though.
You still have to wear the VR dork hat?
I don't really see this taking off, even in amusment parks and arcades, if you gotta wear the goggles. Now if they figure out a way to project (stereoscopic) images on the inside of the ball and take input from the user's movements, project NATAL style, then we may see an arcade renaissance.
If they reduced the size of the "VR dork hat" (made me LOL), then it might become somewhat popular in an arcade setting. It's so large though, I don't see it being used in homes much.

I'm interested in how well it would handle inertia.
The thing looks pretty big; I can't imagine it would be easy to pull off a sudden 180 degree shift in direction without the inertia of your previous directional movement. I mean, imagine you're running along happily and hear a sudden noise behind you, so you spin around quickly, wouldn't there be a potential problem there?
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift
