New mmorpg player, loving this game

Though I have spent a lot of time playing computer games, especiallly simulation games like the Sims, and video games, including some rpgs, I was never really into mmorpgs until I started playing Runes of Magic. Since it's free, I can have fun without feeling like it's been a huge investment, and the quality is high enough that I feel like it's worthwhile to play. I was always a little intimidated by other mmorpgs because it seemed like such a big investment, but now I can have fun playing and take my time to explore the world without getting scared. Anyone else want to share their experiences with the game after playing other types of computer or video games?

do you have a more detailed explanation for why you think it's bad? I have played a lot of computer games and to me, it seems great so far, I like how you can do more than just fight, though the fighting and getting equipment is fun too.

Any game with a cash-shop is a fail game.

This game is a complete copy of WoW in everyway possible. Do yourself a favour go invest in wow, itll be the same thing with more content,

This sounds more like a personal opinion than fact. Especially the first part.

It's great you're enjoying the game.

There is a lot of good stuff in RoM, and I enjoyed it more than a lot of subscription MMOs I have played.

Enjoy the game as long as you can.

I expect you'll enjoy other MMOs if you get tired of RoM. Some offer more particularly in terms of variety but don't let jaded posters put you off, as long as you're having fun there is no need to look elsewhere.

Thanks, I am going to keep working on leveling my character and exploring the game, it is really detailed so it will take a while to do that :)

    ok here is my opinion:

i checked it out for a day and was completely shocked what a crap one of the so called higher regarded microtransaction games is!

oh i have a question if you dont mind:

how can you tell the "quality is high" if you "have never really been into mmorpgs" , so that you hav not so much to compare ? :)

Even though I haven't had that much experience with mmorpgs, I can still tell if something has good graphics or interesting gameplay, especially after playing lots of different computer and video games. It's easy for me to lose interest, so a game is probably high quality to me if it makes me want to keep playing. I think you don't need to have played a lot of other mmorpgs to tell if a game is high quality, for example GTA IV was the first GTA title I played and I could tell it was a really well-made, complex game right away.
