Seems theres a new F2P game. This one is not korean, but seems russian. Russia is like the last keep of PC gamming, so we can expcet nice things to come. This one new is not much good (lack polish) but is a western mmo, so It could be a good idea to test it (is 1 GB download).

I thought it was just the US version of 4story so people would have less lag when they play it.

Like pong i keep bouncing back and forth between games.

Can you even name more than 1 good russian game ? I doubt it. They are masters of crap gaming. I bet you'll say Stalker, well sorry it's not a russian game.

Errm.. How about Tetris 'The' most ported game in history that has sold millions of copies on almost every console on the planet to date, created and programmed by Alexey Pajitnov it was a inovative craze during the 80's and i remember everyone playing at some point when i was a kid.

Theres also Allods online a russian mmo that IMO surpasses anything to come out of korea since Aion arrived, that game has a lot going for it and is now being translated by Gpotato EU.

Tetris - "from russia with fun" was on the box man

I admit you got me there, boy is my face red. In 30 years you managed to name 3 game franchises. They sure are the last bastion of good gaming. I admit Kings bounty and Disciples are good games. Tetris too ofc.  However most of russian games are next to unplayable, and 10 times as buggy as anything germans can come up with(Gothic).

As a self proclaimed keen observer of the game industry, I have to agree that Eastern Europe is the best place to look for fresh, innovative PC gaming in the world today.

Budgets are low, and oddly enough with that comes the incentive to try something incredibly different that may just be lightning in a bottle.

Why does it hurt when I pee?

If you consider turn based strategy and rip offs of old classics that make you wanna puke(UFO,7.55 mm), inspired.  King's Bounty is a "sequal" to a super old game. Disciples was inspired to say the least by heroes of might and magic , a game originally that came out in mid 90s I believe(inspired by kings bounty). And these are the few playable good ones without game breaking bugs .

Best games that came out of eastern europe are actually ones with a decent budget. The Witcher, Mafia, Call of Juarez etc.

I want more clones of Baldurs Gate,  Kings Leyend, KOTOR,  and Morrowind.  And less clones of Unreal Tournament,  Oblivium with guns.

Really high budget productions CAN'T innovate because there are too much million dollars in stake, so there must be zero danger.  Money is very risk adverse.   Smaller budgets can try to innovate, or cater for niche targets.  WE are niche targets, because we are not using a console.

I see you point, and I may agree,...   but we *need* these guys to come and be our saviors, theres no one else that will support PC gamming on the future.  Is East Europe / Russia (maybe Brazil?)  or a really dull *nothing*.

I agree that europe is alot more innovative in general. At least they attempt to make niche products. Paradox has been doing it very well for years, as critical of them as I may be.  CCP made something different with EVE.  Germany gave us Gothic.  The big hit games I mentioned in the previous post came from eastern europe.  There is hope at least.
