In order to get the discounted sub rate during the vet trial, you had to resub at the moment you reactivated your account. It was abundantly clear that you would be immeadiately charged a month at the discounted rate, with 7 additional free days added on. You knew you were going to be charged and your just trolling.

I didn't want to resub, I didn't want a discount. I wanted a TRIAL. I didn't like it and cancelled and deleted my payment info in 1 week. Whether or not I'm wrong, I'm sure there will be a lot of others out there who did the trial not knowing they'd have to pay for it. So I'm letting them know. How is that trolling?
You didn't have to pay for the trial. You were given the option at the time you reactivated your account to resub at a discounted rate, or simply play the seven free days. The instructions were extremely clear.

Obviously they weren't clear. And FC has a history of charging people AFTER they've cancelled. Still what does it matter what you think? People who played the trial and thought because it was a trial it was free then cancelled should check their bank statements to make sure they weren't charged.

Augustgrace made it pretty clear. You can't fake the system thinking you can get away with getting a month free and seven days by accepting then quickly deleting your CC info.
It was clear if you wanted the special pricing and the items you had to make a purchase then and there.

I wasn't trying to fake the system. I was trying to get the free trial. I didn't quickly delete my cc info, I deleted it a few days later when I cancelled. Why would I want special pricing for something I wanted for free? That makes no sense. As far the free items, they were worthless anyway. All I can tell you is I clicked on the link for the trial, filled everything out, tried it, didn't like it and cancelled and come to find out I'd been subscribed. And I want to make clear when I signed up for the trial, I was wary to make sure I wasn't subbing cause I know how FC is.
Nonetheless, my point is valid, whether my mistake or FC's, if you did the trial just to see, and then cancelled you should check your statements to make sure you didn't get charged.
It was pretty clear you didn't have to enter CC#s to check out the re-eval. So I don't know what to tell you. Dispute it and maybe you'll get your money back.

Yeah thats what I thought too. But the trial wouldn't work until I did put in a CC. Asking here on the forums was told I could put my cc info in as long as I cancelled before the trial was up. Thought that was messed up but cancelled well before the trial was over. Apparently they charged me for a sub the day I signed up for the trial.
I sent in a ticket to fc to credit my account, if not, a chargeback for sure. Still details are unimportant. What is important is that if you signed up for the vet trial and then cancelled, you should check your statements.

I'm afraid I HAVE to support dhayes on this one. I have recently had both the 7 day trial and the 1 month trial (almost back to back). The 7 day trial I did not enter a CC, but I could see how someone easily could have. Then for the one month trial... YOU HAVE TO ENTER A CC to get it. Plain and simple. (And I have checked with them regarding this. I have not been charged yet and my next billing is scheduled for a little less then one month from now). All this to say that there is no set methodology for this process so I can see how someone could get confused. This IS NOT trolling... it's just trying to give people a heads up to check for themselves.

Well, the 1 month is not a trial, it equivalent to buying the game. You just won the game. The registration process really isn't much different from most other MMOs.
Your re-evalution is done with your existing account.

What Funcom is using is an old trick. Make the process a bit too difficult so that some people will subscribe by mistake. Victims cannot really do anything because legally it's their own fault.
And everyone who is calling OP a retard or whatnot.. try to understand that a mistake like this is totally normal. Especially when registration process is confusing. Not everyone has time or energy to read every small print. Elitist keyboard warriors make me sick.
You should always be very careful when dealing with Funcom and money. This is a company that ADMITTED to lying to investors in order to get funds to develop Anarchy Online. What does that tell you about their morals and business culture?

There was an option to activate the trial....
Yes and that is what I did. Went to the website, clicked on the link for the vet trial. I guess my mistake was in thinking that clicking on the vet trial link that meant I was interested in the vet TRIAL. Bear in mind, knowing that FC has a history of charging customers after they've cancelled, I was specifically looking to make sure I wasn't subscribing when I signed up for the trial.
Again my point is valid. If you think you you've just signed up for the trial, but didn't want to subscribe, doublecheck your statements.
The option for a trial didn't require CC information or anything, therefore making it impossible to bill you for it.
What you're suggesting is that you put in your CC evidently. Otherwise how would they charge you? Therefore, you obviously didn't click said option.
What can I tell you. I clicked on the link for the trial, and it wouldn't let me play til I put in the CC info. It was the first day of the trial though maybe they didn't have there crap together. But so what? I didn't click anything saying 'I want to subscribe'. In fact I specifically wanted to NOT subscribe, yet somehow I apparently did. Got that? I signed up for the trial specifically not wanting to subscribe. Did I make a mistake? Does it matter? I didn't want to subscribe, yet clicking on the link for the vet trial on their website, somehow ended up with me subscribed. Perhaps if FC didn't have a history of charging customers after they'd cancelled it'd be a one off situation, but they do.
And again, so what? If you signed up for the vet trial but didn't intend to subscribe, you should check your statements.
And again, so what? If you signed up for the vet trial but didn't intend to subscribe, you should check your statements.
Anyone who actually bothered to pay attention isn't going to have this issue. Funcom has made a lot of mistakes, but this issue is purely your fault. I believe it was even stated in the email invitation that you DID NOT need to enter credit card info for the trial.

You can't know that. You THINK it's all my fault, and why you would think that I have no idea. You don't know what I saw, what I did. Bottom line, I did NOT want to subscribe, tried to make sure I did not subscribe, ended up subscribed. And that first day of the trial, I and others did have to put in CC info to get the trial activated.
Bottomline, if you signed up for the vet trial but didn't want to subscribe, you should check your statements? Whats your problem with that?
