Ideas for a Good nemesis from a Comic Book Veteran

When creating your Nemesis keep in mind that you are trying to have the best time in CO and this is the ultimate opportunity of a lifetime. Never has there been a game where you could make your own Arch Villain that you will clash against through your career. Consider it your endgame in the making. Now to make this the best experience possible there are a few rules to making the best arch nemesis.



Power wise your arch villain should be able to pose a threat to you. No sense making a nemesis who you can beat all the time. So avoid giving him powers that are a weakness to your power. In fact, it should be the opposite.



Style wise consider how you will be playing CO. If you are going to be a grouper and be in a group, make you nemesis with that in mind. He should be able to thwart your team abit as well. If you solo then make him more for that kind of conflict.



If you want a safe bet you can make him a competitor type nemesis meaning similar power to you. So this is more in line with Hulk vs the Abomination or Ironman vs Titanium man (strength vs Strength or Power Armor vs Power Armor).



I would avoid the cancel out type nemesis (Ice vs Fire) this can lead to long endurance based battles that will become annoying over the life of your career.



That’s just my 2c hope it sparks some ideas.

    Pretty much ever nemesis character is different.  I have 6 characters planned out (1 I can't even start with till we get Earth Powers).  I still have to figure out how I will do my MAIN characters powers.  Pretty much everything else I have figured out.  =)

    you're not able to choose individual powers for your nemesis, you're only able to choose some overall framework which is balanced to be tough.

    also i don't get this thread, it feels like the "please everyone take a ressurection power"-thread from the co boards, people can actually think up their nemesis on their own.

    How much customization can be done with this nemesis?  I understand one can fiddle with its appearance and powers somewhat.  Can the nemesis' background be customized?  Can one define the motivation for their nemesis' hatred?  Without a proper motivation, it seems like a nemesis would simply be an NPC that has decided to single you out for griefing.
