Looking for some advice

TalamurTalamur Member Posts: 12

Hello,

So, i just got hold of a 21 day trial some days ago, And i'm looking for some advice.

I've just about begun with the Caldari Epic arc - Blood among the stars - ( Or whatnot ). And i was wondering, should i continue with this arc at once, or spend some time getting a better ship?

Just about got my hands on a Cormorant and fitted it with some 125mm Carbide Railguns 1. And seeing how i'm still waiting with buying the game, i wanted to get a bit further.

Any advice regarding Fitting, What to do, and Corporations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

the epic story arc leads you around to to e different areas of high sec space, introducing you to a range of different faction and corp agents. you get a bit of a feel for the types of missions and core fiction associated with the four main races.

it is not a bad set of missions for a look around but not hugely beneficial for advancement as a character unless you choose to start doing missions for agents that are not in your starting race.

be aware that a destroyer is not the best ship for PvE when you start meeting cruiser sized npcs, you will explode very quickly (destroyers are designed to take down frigs and don't tank higher class weapons well)

if you want to stick with caldari ships for PvE, the progression is easiest through the missile boats, kestrel, caracal, drake, raven.

There is no reason to do the epic arc unless you want to do it. This is eve not wow, its not going to unlock spells for you its just going to hand you some cash and you may or may not have been making better money elsewhere.

I would do both. It will give you an idea of mission running, and you will find that you are always "spending time to get a better ship", it is just how the game works.

As you play more, and learn more you find that it isn't so much about a better ship, but about the right ship for the job. The best pilots in Eve apply the right ship and fit, to the situation at hand.

I always recommend finding a corporation, as they will be able to answer your questions in a more timely manner, and having friends in game makes Eve more enjoyable.

Good luck, don't let the harsh enviorment discourage you.

Thanks for all of the advice people,

I've really been having fun lately, trying out different things. But i always thought that the first epic arc was there to "Conclude" the tutorial - Angst.

I'll just have to try running some more contacts and joining a corporation then.

Oh, and another question. I lost my destroyer the other day, and when i go back to the same area, and use the right-click interface, i can apparently warp to my wreck. However, there is nothing at that location - Despawn i suppose?

And it was in the Epic arc, and those bits are instanced. No?
