Talk About Enticing!

As I stated in another thread, I've been on the fence about resubscribing to EQ2 lately; but considering that I haven't played it in months, it's starting look appealing again.

In any case, I decided to check to see if I had any free booster packs that I might not have used, and, fortunately, there were ten waiting for me (I've never put a cent into the card game). Well, you can imagine my shock when I received the 5-bedroom house loot card out of one of them! I haven't resubscribed yet, but this might be enough to persuade me to do so. (I admit that I feel sorry for the people who pay hundreds of dollars looking for an item like this, and I just happened to randomly receive one that can't be traded.)

I suppose this is really what you call "pure luck," huh?

So, out of curiosity, if any of you were in a similar position, would this be enough to make you resubscribe? (If you were already considering it, that is.)

EDIT:

Oh, and before I hear "screenshot or it didn't happen," I'll post one as soon as I'm at my computer which contains the screenshots.

EDIT 2:

All right; you can now view both the front and back of the card. Also, note the tab down at the bottom of the screen showing the link to this thread verifying that it's my picture. (For those of you who are paranoid, the links go to Photobucket.)

Nah, although having the house is nice. for me it's not a deal-maker (as opposed to a deal-breaker, I guess). While I think EQ2 is a very good game, there are too many other issues concerning the company running it, and those issues prevent me from ever giving those guys my money again.

I am happy for you about your luck, however. Go play the lotto today!

Considering there are no concrete "odds" available for the card game, I guess I'll never know how fortunate I really was in this case.

Hilariously, I also received Zam's speeder on the same account for the SWG TCG out of another free pack of cards, although, even more so in this case, I don't intend to reactivate my account. If only I could be so lucky with the real lottery (although I've never purchased a lotto ticket in my life and probably never will as I view it as a waste of money). =P

    EDIT:

I changed my mind about the decision to not reactivate my account. While the house wasn't the determining factor (just an added bonus, as I see it), I decided to resubscribe if for no other reason than my lack of an MMO to play at the moment.

Wow, you are lucky. I'd love to have that card.

Back earlier this year when I still played EQ2 I had two accounts running at the same time, I would also log into LoN every month to check to see what free cards I got in that months booster pack (not sure if they still give out free packs once a month).  I did get the 5 bedroom house a total of 3 times over a time frame of 4 months worth of free packs (I may have gotten all 3 on one account, but think it may have been 2 and 1), but not on the other.    I am not sure how rare it is, but it is nice, if a bit out of the way location wise (for my preference anyway)

It is a nice bonus, and EQ2 is one of the better games out there for giving extra incentives for players to keep on playing (Though I burned myself out on the game by leveling too many characters from scratch, all the way to 80)

    Enjoy the house.

Unfortunately no.I love EQ2 i had fun playing it,i really have very few beefs with the game, but there was not enough players, pretty much the same as VG.The actual reason why i am not playing to this day is because they botched up my accounts.I went back as a returning player so i got a free month,i tried for the last 2 weeks of my free trial to subscribe and it would not let me,it kept saying i had a subscription that was the trial....BAH ! so i continued figuring on the last day i could subscribe, nope still nothing.

Here is the catch,if i did not subscribe before the trial was over i lose all my free updates of the game that i did not already own,so i figured this was a planned ordeal, got pissed and said screw it.

One thing i can say about the EQ2 players that do login to play, they are good people that are quick to join groups,it is the only game out there that can survive with a small pop. When i was last playing the pop on my server averaged around 500-800,very rare did it go over 800,and that is just too small, even my friendly guild that was very old, just had hardly anyone on.

I would say the majority of vets in this game, other than those running guilds, are only logging in for Raids,or constantly farming for gold on their high level players,so it does not leave many lowbies to hang with.

It is a real shame, arguably the best MMORPG ever made and a cheap, lame game like WOW has all the players.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I actually seen a influx with ex Wow players the last few months. So there is usually quite a few noobs around, at least certain hours of the day. Bad news is that the general chat have gone downhill latley, dunno if it have to do with the new players or not.

But some servers are not so well populated as others. Still, it is only really odd hours I have problems finding groups.

Wow, congrats on the house! I thhink that would entice me to come back to at least try the game and check out the new house for a bit to see if I enjoy it again.

    Enjoy the new home.
