XemousXemous Member Posts: 255

In your guys opinion, whats the worst kind of somatic pain?

Imo, stomach pain is the worst.  It comes and goes in waves, but it has me trembling its so bad sometimes.

Ive never had a migraine or a kidney stone so i dont know if thats worse.

Kidney Stones win by a landslide for guyse=)  If you haven't had them, you just don't know, hehe.  According to my wife birth was the worst, followed closely by a major migrane then ulsurs.

Personally I can say being burned(2nd & 3rd degree) or stabbed does not hurt as much as you think.  Shock is a wonderful thing.  Gas pains are worse;)

I think the OP meant bodily and natural pain and not wounds. Now if you want to talk about most painful WOUNDS? I'd say 3rd degree burns and papercuts (in specific places like the flap between your fingers).

Being put through test after mind-numbing test for six hours while my appendix was trying to burst was pretty painful, mostly because they refused to give me even basic tylenol because they thought it would skew the tests.

A bad outbreak of eczema is pretty nasty too. Your entire body feels like it's itching and burning at the same time, yet if you try to scratch anything the itching and burning gets worse. The only sleep I was able to get when this happened to me was when I was so exhausted I literally passed out.

I've heard having a baby is the worst, but I can't speak from experience on this.

Personally, it's the "pain over longer periods of time" that are the worst.

Nose for me. Due to the high number of nerve endings.

Tip of the penis....that could be bad.

Let's do it, America. Australian parliament patients for American uninsured, war on drugs for green prisons, issued guns for issued poodles!

EDIT: Honestly, damn. If I ever take up a life of crime, I'm making sure to do it in Norway. At worst its being 17 years old again.

I love electric shocks! It sorta gives me a euphoric sense of disconnection and I get a ton of endorphines and adrenaline coursing through me. I think the worst pain I had was Intestitinal parasites. The little buggers munching on my Intestinal walls was sooooo lovely....

Giving birth would be #1.   #2 would definitely be kidney stones.  I have seen the effect it can have on a person and it must be excruciatingly painful.  #3 is migraine.   The pain can be so bad that it'll paralyze you and sometimes even go blind.    I do not recommend it.

    Shingles!

    Hands down.

I had a vasectomy and didn't even feel it because I had shingles on the side of my body.  I was going through 90 pills of Vicodin in just a few days and the doc refilled my vicodin 3 or 4 times in less then 2 weeks.

    Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

Have to say Sclorosis of the Peratanium is pretty bad im on constant pain meds every day all day [Diclofenac 100mg and tramadol 100mg 3 times a day]

And on bad days which is about every 4-5 days Morphine 10 mg 2 - 3 times a day depending on how bad it is.

Dont know if its the worst body pain [as pain is personall] But its certainly my worst.

I gotta cast my vote for ruptured / herniated disc over a kidney stone.  At least a kidney stone eventually passes.

Ever had a leg cramp or any muscle cramp that brings you to tears?  Ya, thats what a rupture disc will do to you but in a much larger area and a LOT more intense.  It can last for days, weeks, months or years before you can successfully rehabilitate it.  Theyre called muscle spasms.  Then for no good reason it decides to rear its head up every once in a while reminding you how mortal you are.  Eventually you'll undergo surgeory fusing the vertebrate together, and causing more pain until its healed.

lol.. I type this with a heating pad on my neck and shoulder from the way too frequent back spasms from a herniated disc between the 5th and 6th vert.
