Non-Class/Level Based Game?

MordothMordoth Member UncommonPosts: 65

Are there any AAA Title games out there that aren't based on classes and levels, but skill based instead?  Maybe something like Morrowind with current quality graphics.

Not really worried about the genre so much, prefer Fantasy, Sci-Fi (including post apocalyptic) or fusion of the above, but pretty open minded.  Also prefer to be able to solo much if not most of the time, grouping occasionally, but not forced to group.

Not sure what AAA means but Mabinogi more or less fills those reqs.Except for graphcis which are a litte cartoonish but still a good game(at least i think so).

FFXIV will be coming out next year.  In the mean time, there is EVE.

A Triple-A title or AAA is usually a big-budget, big studio, top of the line game.

Graphics quality is pretty important to me in a game since it greatly affects the immersion.

Haha, I know perfect game for you!

    This game has

    1. No class, skill based pretty much. It has level, but ill explain in a sec.

    2. Fantasy, very open mind and open world.  No quest line where everyone has to go through as you.

    3. You can solo all you want.

As for level part, you get experince points everytime u kill, you use that experince points to build up whatever skill you want so level doesnt really matter much though.

The game is called Asheron's Call.

It has awesome combat system.  You can build up run, jump skill as well.  Though population isnt that good since its 10+ years old game.. I have been waiting for another game like this to come out to save my life! lol I played this game from 99' to 06!

Free trial it.  If your gonna free trial it, do not expect to see some npc with icon on top of them because its way different style than this era of MMORPG.

EDIT:  Graphic may be outdated little bit at first but afterwhile you play for 10 levels... u will fall in love.

Eve Online has the potential for a lot of skill, though the combat is relatively simplistic and most of the skill actually comes into play BEFORE the battle... but with dust 512 coming in the next few years, I think you should consider EveO.

You just ruined about 16 years of being able to appreciate Star Wars for me.

To the OP: Check out the Mortal Online forums for information about that game. They should be having an open beta sometime this month, unless they push release back again.
