It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
First i would like to add that unlike most other free 2 play mmo's this one does have a working camara feature lol. (One that follows behind you)
2. This is not a WoW clone at all, I searched for a good MMO for along time that wasn't simply a clone. (You can usually tell upon logging in cause the top left will have character portrait hp/mp bars laid reletively the same, which also means the battle system itself is the same, at it's core it is anyway)
3. The game is highly addictive and is not point click battle behavior like wow. If your comming from a game like FFXI or even FF tactics and liked the battles because they were tactical you will love this game. If you are looking for a battle system like wow (point click win without using much of your brain power, this won't be the game for you.) I always used the chess or checkers style MMO, this one is more chess.
4. Out of about 30ish free 2 play games I have tried, I can honestly say this is the only one engaging. I have spent alot of time searching.
5. Upon reaching level 30 you may feel things are getting repetitive and not much increase on difficulty. This will change upon reaching around 44 and going to get Beast trainer merc. The level cap is 120 and if you can manage to stick out these bad 14 levels you will find the same excitement you found when you started playing again. The boss battles start to increase in difficulty fairly well also. Myself 51 at the time with one other 53, spent around 4 1/2 hours doing the witch quest to recruit the merc, and after we were done (for say someone that played ffxi) it felt like we just finished with a very long Dynamis run, but in a good way lol.
6. This is a game where say every 10ish levels you'll need to catch up on some reading on forums or the wiki for info on catching up your characters. If you simply just play without looking anything up it is possible you will be gimped. In other words the game does have an addictive level of depth to it. And most (but not all) of the info "can' be found in the game itself in your info book which I might add is also laid out VERY nice.
7. Everyone can teleport ! No need for Whm's or for wow'ers mages etc.
8. Auto-move is the best thing introduced and this game does it well, I have NEVER gotten stuck from the ingame auto-move feature. Turn it on to get to quest, go make a drink, come back, and your where u need to go when you come back. So the people bad with directions, you won't have much worry here.
9. Auto-Battle is also in this game later on, incase you end up in a fight while your auto running and afk or maybe eatting while playing cause you just HAVE to multi-task that is here too. You can't do auto-battle 100% and i wouldn't recommend it but it is there. I dont recommend it if you can do it yourself anyway cause sometimes the auto ai wont cure your team when u need it, make a viking attack a row with 1 person instead of the other row with 3 for example etc etc, but it "is" there and can save your butt if your auto running and afk.
10. Crafting at first for "some" might seem lame, for others it works perfectly. For those people that do like to sit in towns while crafting however you do get auto-craft later (in your 40's or early early 50's) from a quest you will need to do anyway, so you have both options which is real nice.
As a player of ffxi for 6 years and looking for a new MMO for the past 3 (lol), Atlantica has filled the need greatly.
P.S. Remember that 30-44 gap, it will pick back up again

nice info you got there..
and don't forget the town modification feature (where town owners can change the town's structure to their liking)
great info im enjoying the game myself, the item mall doesnt matter too but it does help. cant believe how great this game is. lvl 50 atm
Now Playing: Guild Wars 2/ Diablo 3
I am amazed at how much I am enjoying this game. I went in with fairly low expectations. I have not played wow for several months and was looking for something. I thought, what the hell its free, and joined up.
I just love the community, I love getting presents from people and money. The mechanics of the game mean that players are rewarded for giving and helping. You get given so much free stuff from the game that you dont need the item mall, although that may change as you get to higher levels.
It is far more strategic than I first thought it would be, and I have had to do loads of research. It seems that there is no cookie cutter formation and people seem to be winning at pvp with different varieties of mercenaries in their set up. I feel that I can play the game as I want to play with the type of mercs that I will enjoy playing with.
I am really looking forward to levelling. I never thought I would say that! I am also enjoying the crafting. There is no shortage of gear etc at lower levels as so much drops. You can even enchant your own gear, how cool is that!
All in all, I think this is a good game for someone who is feeling a bit bored. It is different enough to make it interesting.
i would also recommend this game. I am currently at level 34 and it is good to know that I am in the gap, since I started getting a little bored of leveling.
The tournements are alot of fun too. It is great to work up the ranks, although the event tournement last light was absolutely ridiculous. Seriously.... round one was me (level 34) vs a level 110. Not a very fun battle.
I just got level 70 and looking at prices for things like +5 6 bows for my main was jaw dropping.
After some research and quest grinding (not the main quests) I made about 50m in the past 3 days its been awesome!!
I got my +7 osiris bow, nice pretty red lol. Wish I knew about it being sealed (bound to you until u get it to +10) But I like it ^^
It seems any equipment in between 7 and 9 is bound to u if you "unseal" it. Which is just a simple right click to unseal. If you don't unseal it u can sell it but you can't use it either. Kind of like a rare/ex or a BoE but until u make it a +10.
Selling Sealed orbs from re-doing merc quests have been my gravy for money so far.
needless to say, upon hitting 70 this game is 20 times better then it was when i was 50. The boss fights have become awesome as well, as long as you don't cheap it by using scrolls, but sometimes u just wanna use em anyway haha.
P.S. Hint: If you get a friend or even better 2 friends to go on re-quests for sealed orbs u can do the whole quest chain in about 90 minutes give or take depending on your level and if you all have teleportation already. Compared to the first time which is about 3 4 hours for most. We've been hitting ones with good payouts but 15-20 levels under us so we can breeze thru fast.
Agree 100% with the OP.
This game is DEEP. I would put it up there with EVE as far as strategy goes. The combat, builds, etc require knowledge and research (which i love). It isn't a hop on and spam buttons game like the EQ/WoW types.

It's not easy for you to post such a long post
The only word is great, your perspect is unique~
if anyone want some guide of the game
find OGpal
add some more minigames and maps and mercenaries and i guess players will never get tired of playing atlantica
I think merc's was what won by a BIG lead for what people want in the next update poll too. And in some interviews they stated they plan on expanding ALOT even so far as "our" planetary system. So there is 2 of the 3 "somewhat" confirmed haha ^^. I personally would like to see more events that can only be completed in a party and even then make them seriously hard, some battles people talk about and cant wait to get to for months etc. And I do indeed love the challange of the boss's already implemented, but I haven't quite seen any "Uber" impossible boss's. Which is totally expected being this is a new"ish" game and all. I hope they do that someday ^^.
Can't wait to find out what mercs other then hwrang is gonna be comming. Versatility 4tw
I too just picked up the game here last week and I have found the game very interesting. Right now I am running a level 30 archer on the Sikyon Server.
The other players are really helpful and more than willing to go out of their way to assist the new players out either by gifting coins or items.
Being a F2P game also helps out as well. Being a former WoW player as well, I was looking for something that didn't just have the point and click to kill a mob but looking for something that actually made you think about what you are doing and how you are going to accomplish the goals (quests) that you pick up along the way. The NPC's also from time to time quiz you on information they give you as well for easy XP and coin.
This is one of the games that actually pays attention to the details and the characters and NPC's both don't look cartoonish. I honestly think that this is one of those games that has done really well and by word of mouth will continue to grow.
Great work by the development team and really good customer support.

Looking for that next MMO
I too cant wait for other mercs to come. i love the fact that even if you picked the same class, the line up still differs. this game has a huge diversity with regards to char builds and lineups. i love this game.
the hwarang mercenary is already released, too bad it can be recruited when you're level 112
i'm looking forward to the minstrel, i want to be a rocker chick in my formation XD
