Quests

I've been gone from Asheron's Call for about 2 years or so, and have heard about gameplay changes. Have they added any quests to the game (and not just special item quests), or are they planning to for the expansion pack coming out in 2005?

Asheron's Call is probably my favorite MMORPG I've played, but I got tired of the endless grinding. And the number of quests is something that I much prefer about AC2.

you may want to check out www.thejackcat.com

It lists many quests, other than just special items one over the course of two years.

The most recents ones are the Buruun quests, they are up to BM5 in the story arc for that.

They usually do add a few new quests each month.  How many, varies with whatever else they have on the agenda for that patch.

I agree that it is.... or was my favorite MMOG that I've played.  The content for a mid-level char is great.  There is a lot to do.  And to a lesser extent for a lower character.  But once you reach a high level, the content dramatically drops.  My level 93 life mage, has very little he can do other than grind out levels anymore.  Of the 3-4 (on average) new quests added about 2-3 are for mid to low level chars.  That leaves maybe one or two quests, of which maybe one is actually doable (by doable I mean can do solo or with a small fellow) quests.  The community is just too small for huge fellowships taking on massive quests.  I can't even remember the last time the Queen quest was done when I've been playing.  I remember seeing the global announcement at least one or two times a day.  The people just aren't there anymore for those type of quests.  By mid-level I mean around 30-70(maybe as high as 80ish); high and low are above and below that mark.

It was an incredible game, that needs to get back to it's older ways again.  The ways that made it one of the most popular MMOGs around.  I just hope Turbine listens to the people.  I've yet to hear someone prefer the newer gameplay to the older ways.

The game has to change otherwise people will complain about that. For just about every change they make there are lots of people who like it and lots who don't. No way to please everyone. And as far as being popular, AC has never really been a very popular game.
