It has come to my attention that you want to play this game. Why would you post such a rediculous thread in a pvp-orientated end-game mmoRPG forum if you didn't?

Might make sense, especially since NCSoft stated a PvE player base does help keep the game alive. BUT.....
There is no 'logic' to making pve realms. Well, besides the "they MIGHT make more money" argument. But it costs a lot of money to operate servers, ask Blizzard, they're net profits are not as high as many people think ( I do believe they had to push 2008 taxes to 2009).
The biggest reason why PvE realm QQers fail: The game was designed for PvP. Accept it, or gtfo.

I so enjoy what this game represents I don't want it to change. I want to play it! I don't tell Squaresoft how I want my next single player RPG to be like.

Your parents condom failed and they had you. Doesn't make condom haters out of everyone. Just make sure you use the brand that works, sometimes that requires the guess(use) and test method. (For instance, Trojans always break for me. Durex doesn't. Do you understand what I'm saying kid?)

Neither did blizzard before WoW. Even then, WoW still has them. Starcraft and Diablo and WC i,ii,&iii had some insane botters/hackers. Still do!

I don't see the problem here. I've never been ganked once outside of the abyss in beta. Even in the abyss I was smart enough to avoid dying to it.
A pve server will be fine if..
it dusnt screw up class balance in pvp due to people want things to be buffed/nerfed for pve.
and that in the most games is a pain in the backside.

Ganked you will be, Ganking you will do. It's the way PVP environments work. Frankly, it's part of the fun.
Camping is not possible in Aion because you respawn in towns.
Again, If hostile battlegrounds it's not your stuff, maybe Aion it's not for you. But that's just fine.
Nice job fanboi...the only think you succeeded in doing is traiding in your integrity. Believe it or not sir, there are issues with your precious Aion / NCsoft. Only thing I didn't like about the post was that I do not believe griefing is a good thing in any game. Period. PVP, yes. Ganking? Sure I love to ambush a quester in a pvp environment.
But camping an area to kill people much lower in levels than me to ruin their day? Not so fun. No matter what faction, race or team someone is on, the point of the game is the game is filled with toons, and those players are still people who can easily be on different sides.
I like consensual fun, not forced.
I need to apologize to Soupism. Based on your other comments I though you a Aion fanboi. Thanks for having a critical eye on this game. We may disagree on some things, but at least you have shown not to be blind.

I'm not a fanboi, excited about this game yes. But if it doesn't work out I'm not going to have a problem finding a new game.
Did that with EQ, did it with WoW. Played both to their fullest extent (max level, max crafting, raided hardcore etc).
But I am opinionated and like to argue to pass the time.

I may have discouraged wow and warhammer a little bit, but I haven't said anything about Aion being the be-all, end-all game.
I think my post was pertaining to the endless supply of trolling people do about "not wanting to play Aion". After all, it's just a game.
People like you use over-used terms to make themselves feel a little better about themselves. If you want to argue a point, bring it, otherwise insulting someone on pretty flimsy ground using a weak insult doesn't not count towards arguing.

I'm a bit lost on how I insulted anyone? I generally do NOT call people names or make fun of them for anything since I'm a devout believer in anyone being able to play how they want. Will I talk about my opinion and why I believe the things I do? Sure.
Do I think I treat the game the way you say fanboys do? Not at all. I don't understand why your post was directed to me in at all lol.
I don't think Aion is godly. Although I am looking forward to playing it.
I don't think WOW was or is godly, although I have extensive knowledge of that game having played it for 3 years.
Never played Conan, Warhammer or EQ2 but I did play EQ1 for about 3 years.
I am guilty of being a devout rpg'er though, be it mmo or tabletop or single player. I do think my opinions come from being open minded and trying new things. I am not close minded, or judgemental.
EDIT- rereading your post I think you assume my previous post was in regards to you? I was speaking to judge on that account. Not sure if that's where the confusion comes from but that's all I can glean rereading this whole page.
I don't believe greifing and ganking to be as rampant in Aion as many believe. I personally didn't have many problems with it so that is what I believe. I understand some Asmodians feel different, but I was on Elyos side and there just simply wasn't a problem for me.
Ganking and Greifing promote PvP, if you get ganked/griefed you ask friends to come for help. Eventually it can lead to an escalated pvp for hours of fun.
What I do have a problem with are the "safe zones" which are basically level 40 towers protecting enemies from wiping you out. However I understand if we were level 40+, we could wipe these defenses out. As it stands, most pvp in the abyss at level 30 were akin to "Gatehopping" in Lineage 2. An enemy would step outside the gate and hop right back inside safe zone. Hopefully this clears up when max is 50, not 30. I'm also sure other things will clear up once it goes live. It's not very smart to judge the game without a slayer system and with a level cap of 30.

Ganking yes, but my def of griefing is spawn camping. That doesn't promote pvp. Not in a positive way anyways =P. I also see griefing as someone coming in to your camped area you might be grinding, or farming, or waiting for a specific spawn and someone of much higher level just follows you killstealing everything. If there is an instance of someone controlling your actions and you have no way to escape, that's griefing. If someone is just better than you, so be it lol.
Basically I see griefing as bullying. While it may help or be needful to call your friends to help, I don't think that it's a viable strategy to promote "fun". (that's not to say I don't or wouldn't have fun on either side, just saying it isn't something worth bragging about lol).
I'm a little worried about the grieffing, but with the game focus being PvP I don't think there will be too much of a problem, most griefing comes from people who are high level and just can't hack it at PvP at their level. So they go kill lowbies.
but most people who can't hack pvp at their level in this game shouldn't make it too far past ten, I hope at least.
